Does the navy really go out and get drunk and have sex with random girls while in port?? Or is this just a myth???

Fom what I see in any port I go to, for a good portion of the single guys, unfortunatley that is a fairly accurate statement!
Most of the married guys just do the go out and get drunk part.
What do you expect? You trap 140 guys in a 300 foot pressure hull, submerged without seeing the sun or a woman for months at a shot?

The Navy must have changed alot since I was in. I remember hearing the party myth before I joined. Yes sailors can go out and get drunk and have a chance at having random sex with girls. Of course the same is true with civilians. You can go out tonight after work and get drunk and there is a chance you might pick up a girl and have sex. Your chances are probably the same or better than a sailor. If you get drunk and caught for driving under the influence of alcohol, ..... you go to court once. In the military the person usually goes to a civilian court and then a military court. In the Navy it's called "Captains mass". The offender can be fined, demoted or even restricted to the base or ship. So if your thinking of joining the Navy because of the party myth, ..... you might want to think twice!! Hopes this helps!

The AF is actually the party service!
Put it this way, I can't remember being an Airman and most of my "female party companions" names. I may have chilled a bit goin' into the NCO tier, but my troops haven't! They make my time as an Airman look as exciting as bingo.
BTW, you don't want to have sex with several women everytime you drop anchor. That's a sure fire route to STD hell! And considering there are more than a few anchorages in Africa, where 80% of the poulation has AIDS, you're better off finding a mil girl. At least you know they get treated if they have anything!!:-)

For one, all branches party and maybe some have sex with random girls. But not all the guys are like that

It is being away from home is what kills you more than being in any part of the military. It is hard for every service man or woman to be in harms way, the navy has its times I am sure but look at all services or branches there and look back at how many german american, japanese american, children of service men and women ther were before.

The party branch is the air force believe it or not. They put more money into what is known as MWR, (morale, welfare, and recreation) I was in the army but stationed at an air force base and at that time I knew the mistake I made

some do, some don't. it depends on where you go and who you are. these days, you are more likely to catch STDs, so i wouldn't recommend it. but, yes, the navy does have a lot of fun.
