When we know. Are we just being redundant, or do we not truly understand the Will of God?

I believe it is just a reminder, since the "old man", our unredeemed human nature, sometimes tries to re-assert itself and cause us to ask, "what would benefit me the most?" or "what would be the most expedient thing to do?" "WWJD" is a good reminder! Have you ever read, "In His Steps" by Charles Sheldon?
The book, though slightly dated, is still relevant today!

Not many people with whom I am personally acquainted - not my pastor, not my wife, not myself - *always* and *totally* understand the perfect will of God at all times!

I think it surfaced for children and young adults. When you wear a WWJD bracelet, you are to hesitate, meditate, and apply God's word at that moment. It's basically a deterrent to sin against God.

But how many people put it into practice? I doubt very many. Like everything else it becomes blas'e and obsolete. Just another come on for someone to make money off of.

A true Christian doesn't need a bracelet to remind them of what is right. We have the Holy Spirit in us and hopefully we're hiding God's word in our hearts to keep us from sinning against Him.

I'm a firm believer that when we do what we know to be right that God will give us guidance in the gray areas.

It is a smokescreen.

If we ask a hypothetical question like that, we can make Jesus into anything we want by coming up with an answer.

The question that ought to be asked is "What did Jesus say?" If Christians would do that, and read the gospels to find the answer, they would no longer be able to justify judgements, hate, or war.

No, I think we want to do the right thing, so asking if this were something Jesus would do (or not) is a good question. But, I see your point, if we were seeking God's will, would we need to be asking WWJD? Only if we felt confused, maybe.

Don't know that I have ever really asked that question. I would probably be wrong anyway, because I do not and cannot know the mind of God. What I DO ask, however, is what would Jesus have ME do. That one I can answer with some certainty since He tells us what He expects of us in His Word!

The first time that I used this phrase, was in answer to a question today.
I try to keep my walk with God to the point that I not only know, but do this.
Of course not being as perfect as I would like to be, I do have to repent some of my actions.
and strive to improve daily.

When I ask that question, it is usually to make the person stop and think about their actions. Would Jesus have done what you just did or are about to do? It is usually my kids that I ask this of. I want them to think and act in a better way than they chose.

People that belive in Christian Dogma ask themselves "What would Jesus do" usually in situations of lust or sinful desires to keep them from indulging in these sinful desires. For example: a sultry nympho wants to have promiscuous sex with you. Before indulging in this sinful act you are to ask yourself what would Jesus do and then realize you should NOT do it. Jesus represents a guideline to the perfect way of living for Christians and other belivers that follow his teachings.

The fact that God gave us all a conscience, should be an automatic response as to what Jesus would or would not do. I agree with you 100%.

If we walk with Jesus in a close fellowship......Then we usually KNOW "what Jesus would Do."! We Need not ask, >> If A particular Issue Is In God's Word......Because we "Know" It is HIS WILL.>>>>for example: " Healing.".
