Switch on your pc, from the black and white boot screen press the F key to enter BIOS, (different motherboards, different key, 98 is old so I'm not guessing what it will tell you).

In BIOS select boot sequence and make boot from cd drive option one. Save changes and exit is normally F10, but check; it's on the bottom right of the screen.

Insert windows 98 disc, turn off/restart your PC.

You will get press any key to install from CD - Press a key!

You want to install Windows 98, not reinstall or repair.

It will give you the format option, choose full format.

After that follow the on screen instructions and enter data as required.

You can't uninstall an operating system because that is what runs the computer. You can use your Win 98 discs to boot from and follow the prompts to format your hard drive and install the OS.

You can't pull the carpet out of the room if you are standing on it.

You will need to boot to a floppy or CD and install from there. You will have options to erase all data on your hard drive and install a fresh copy.
