You seem to be knowledgeable about computers, why not run several of the free malware/adware programs, (like Ad-Aware which appears to be on your system) then the online antivirus freebies - like Trend Micro Housecall.

Run Microsoft Defender too.

Buy a good antivirus - like Norton AV 2008 or their suite. and use it..

Should be able to clear out the bugs. You may need all these to do it. It is a long and arduous process to get rid of the nastiest ones.
