there is nothing to say that God interacts with us
prayer isn't always answered ... and when it is , it can be put down to coincidence, intent or placebo
I believe that we have been given all we need to make this life everything we need it to be

A person whose worldview usually denies interference by a Creator with the laws of the universe. In other words, a Deist believes God created the world and then went off to let it go on its own. You can't be a Christian obviously and be a Deist.
The logical problem for one who goes so far as to believe that God created the world, is to prove that He doesn't interfere with the world, the most obvious interference being revelation (the 10 commandments, Jesus himself, the prophets, etc.)
If I can give my opinion, it's a lazy person's position. They avoid the self-reproach of atheism and escape and external religion, and pretty much get to do their own thing. There was a lot of Deism in the French Revolution and they were a revolting lot. They proclaim God the great Architect and then go put some folks on the guillotine.

You people are full of it. George Washington took his oath of inauguration as President of the United States on a King James Bible.
Washington knew his Bible better than most ministers today and you are telling me that he didn't have a personal relationship with Christ Jesus. You are telling me he is a deist that doesn't believe in knowing Jesus. They believed in Christ being God so much that they always called Christ, God.
Sorry, but sell this to someone who doesn't know the Bible. Who doesn't know where the laws of our country came from.
You can't read law, constitution, declaration of independence, bill of rights or any of our founding fathers documents without seeing the Bible and people with Bible knowledge writing these papers.
You can't even read Shakespeare correctly if you don't know the Bible. History without a Bible in America would be written by an uneducated idiot. Trace the roots of every major university and college in this nation.
We have too many deceivers in this country who wish to squash the truth. If our children listen to this garbage long enough they'll believe that America was never a Christian nation. That is the biggest lie ever told. Even the records of the Supreme Court can't deny it. The carvings on most buildings in Washington cannot deny it. This is a Christian nation even to this very day. Find old history books and read them. Those printed today are deceiving and the authors and printers have taken out all religious words. May God have mercy upon you.

Google the word. George Washington was a deist, as was Jefferson, and many others early in our history. Most of those people would now be anti any religion if they lived today.

My understanding is that a deist believes in a god who set the universe in motion, and took a huge step back. He is not concerned with us and our trevails--in fact, this god may not exist in any form familiar to us. Many of the founding fathers were said to be deist---Jefferson, Madison, Franklin, et al.

Deist dont believe that god actively interferes in our world. i.e. after god created earth, he left it alone and just watched. That means no prophets or miracles. That means it is compatible with modern science.

Example:
Someone who believes in a creator god, but has a hard time believing that this god would have any interest in the minute activities and thoughts of billions of people, or whether to "save" them or not.
