Honestly I would deny. The lord forgives sins.

This happens every day in many parts of the world (to missionaries, adherents in countries like China) and there are a range of responses, although many strong in faith will not deny God. I can't say what I'd do--I would hope that I would not deny my Lord, but as Peter showed on the last day of Jesus' freedom, it is easy to be sure until the situation comes up. And of course, Peter was still a central figure in the spreading of the Good News.

I would be afraid, and I would be torn up inside at the thought of dying without a chance to say goodbye to my husband and kids. But I pray that God would give me the strength not to chicken out and recant. There is no other God, and the thought of pledging allegiance to some false god and denying Jesus like that makes me sick. But until I am in that situation, I have no idea how I would act. I would have no judgment for the Christian who denied the Lord though....nobody is above doing just that when threatened with death.

That is really tough!! Um . . . I would, hmm, I know that right now I would say that I would take that machete head on, but I am not actually in the situation. It is way easier said than done. I would not profess alleigence to their god, NO way. I would be afraid, because I don't want to deny MY God. I really don't know! Hope I helped!

A few might refuse, and be executed.
Some would do it, but only to save themselves - not believing it in their heart (which any 'loving god' would have to understand - then again, the christian god is kind of crazy).
Some would do it, and then spend the rest of their lives thinking that they had passed the point of no return, and be miserable.

I would quote these verses:
"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:
"For your sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered." No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
( Romans 8:35 - 39 )
And anything else that the Lord would have me say.

I was a xian. I was asked the same type question and responded that words under duress are meaningless words. Merely saying something like that to stay alive does not make it true. It is the attitude of your heart that counts.

I would hope that I would not deny my Lord, every true Christian does. But sometimes the temporal things of this world are easier to see than heavenly things.

should that scenario happen somewhere in Russia than most probably the Special forces would gas the building with the nerve gas, then storm in and kill whoever will still be standing. the Gods would then receive their respective obedient souls.

Gee, you're obviously trying to make us atheists some kind of criminal force here. Hey, only 0.2% of the jail population are atheists, and the rest of the 99.8% are theists, most them being Christians.
