Here's the deal: You can have treats every once in a while, but it has to be the exception (not the rule). One thing you can do is set up a reward system for yourself. If you eat well for a whole day or if you get some extra exercise, treat yourself the next day. Just use some self-restraint and have a little bit out of the baskets of goodies. Remember, the treats are something you have to earn, so you need to spend the majority of your time doing the things you know you need to do, like eating a well-balanced diet and exercising. On the flipside, you can also remind yourself that eating too much of that good-tasting but bad-for-you stuff means extra pounds and tighter clothing.

You say your will power sucks, but you have more will power than you know. It's just a question of who's in charge -- you or the goodies. If you give in to temptation every time you see sweets, you're allowing yourself to be a slave to food. Yes, you are actually bowing down and worshipping the food. You're better than that. Keep reminding yourself that YOU are in charge, and that it's OK to have sweets once in a while, but you're not going to let them run your life.

Good luck! You can do it!

Yes, all of the food around the office is tempting, but what you should do is bring your own food so that you have your own health snacks, and if you do find yourself falling into the trap of snacking on all the food, the I would recommend cutting out calories when you go home for dinner and dessert. I would recommend meal replacement bars and energy supplements because they will provide you with the nutrients for energy through out the day and help keep you from snacking.

The link below offers some good products that can help with these things.

give yourself a break during the holidays. you don't have to be a glutton but a little indulging is ok, it's something to be greatful for, one thing you can do is DONATE the baskets to a charity food bank.

in fact, why not ask these places to send baskets to you to food banks in your name and their from now on? this way you keep the peace and don't get calorie obsessive.

you can also make working out steadily and safely one of your resolutions. peace!

Remember where they are and avoid that area. I used to do a lot of work on cruise lines and there was always food somewhere. I just made a schedule and avoided those areas at food times.

Keep some healthy slow digesting snacks in your desk and grab those when temptation is calling.

Avoid temptation. There is a certain area the companies pjut these baskets. Stay away from that area. drink lots of water so you feel fuller.

Yes, it's hard this time of year to turn the other cheek at those wonderful treats! You can indulge as long as you do it sparingly; which is what most people fail to do...good luck and enjoy!
