Just knowing that someone cares enough to want to be that close to you is enough to make you feel great about yourself.

A hug is an exchange of personal energy. Your most comon example is when two people are happy and see each other and have a hug and then they're even happier. However, it works both ways. if someone is frustrated with another person and that other person tries to warant a hug, the anger from the huggee will seep a little bit into the hugger. Hehehe. Just my personal thoughts on the matter. Good question.

Beyond the hug as being an exchange of caring and/or love, there IS no spiritual significance to it. But don't let that stop you from giving or receiving them. They do a world of good, and for certain, there are not enough of them going around these days.

A genuine hug always gives a warm feeling like the sun in the spring time, keeps the faith that there's somebody who cares..

it truly depends on the hug (some are condescending and others are nurturing). being able to tell the difference between the two can be spiritually rewarding

There is no spiritual significance. It's just a greeting, common for all ages. The significance is that you can be a boy or a girl to hug, I suppose. But there is no significance in hugging.

It only resembles affection.

To me, its an outward and physical sign of love.

It can be one of the most releasing things in the world. Sometimes emotionally cathartic. Sometimes a way for souls to say hello....

The Bible ask us to love one another. A hug is an act of love, in that way it could be considered spiritual.

Peace be with you!
