bigger muscle's (hypertophy) : 8 - 12reps make sure on the last rep your muscle is tired. this will build your muscle.(if you go over 12reps the weight is 2 light)
muscle strentgh: 1-6reps one rep being a one rep maximum. enough weight to do 1rep.
you still kneed to gradualy work your weight up. once you can achieve the weight your lifting add more weight. remember to work different muscle's in the set....
anything above 12reps is classed as endurance which mainly gives you definition still gives you muscle mass but not as much.

No, its simply not corollary. Another thing to consider though, because you mentioned Bruce Lee, is the size of the person attempting the feat. The longer one's limbs are, the more work is required to move the same amount of weight and therefore a stronger muscle. As Bruce Lee was a fairly small person, he can accomplish things that larger people would need more muscle for.

Muscle increase in size as they are used. So exercise is important, but since you didn't give your age you may also be lacking in proper hormones. And you will not develop muscles pre-puberty unless you are taking some of the illegal drugs and that is not healthy to do.

I agree with Lyn B to a certain extent. But I've been exercising a certain muscle for many a year and it seems to be getting smaller. Why is this and what can i do about it?

if you do HEAVY weight with low reps and sets you will gain mass and get bigger but not cut. if you do lighter weight with more reps and sets you will get more cut! both ways get you bigger but with lighter weight youll see more of a definition to your muscles more than bulk.
