I've been laughed at and sent home with a shattered fibula, they told me it was bruise! I have never been to the ER and been treated with any respect. I know the brightness seems a little low in there, but why are they rude? No one goes to the ER for fun - but it's their job! They are the only ones planning to be there - so why the attitude? You go in hurt and get treated like an animal in a slaughterhouse. Where are the professionals?

I agree you make a complaint, and no one should be disrespected at the emergency room. I have been mistreated for asking a question there and saw many things,my dog get treated better on my worse day.Medical personal have no excuse,no matter what the reason,if you did not think it was an emergency you would not be there.Maybe next time will be better hoping no next time comes lol. Merry Christmas!

Normally if you go to the bigger medical center's and the university hospitals you will not come across the attitudes, and you will get better overall service/health care. if youre in NJ. Try Robertwood Johnson University medical center, St Peter's University medical center both in New Brunswick. Or University Medical center in Newark.

yep, it's called LaPorte Hospital in LaPorte, Indiana. It's the one i travelled 30 minutes to give birth to both of my babies despite living 1 block from St. Agony's...oops, i mean St. Anthony's. I refuse to go to St. Anthony because the registrar for the ER sat and chatted on the phone for 20 minutes while I proceeded to miscarry in front of her....i left 45 minutes after she took my name and proceeded to LaPorte Hosp. They took me right in and then i got a bill from St. Anthony for $40 just for taking my name. Needless to say, I called them up and made a big stink! never had to actually pay that bill after all the bad publicity i threatened them with! i know exactly how you feel....

Hospitals and clinics are being run more and more like corporations and businesses, and their workers are evenbecoming more and more divided into mean "superiors" (Dr. Cox??) and lowly employees who hate thier jobs. Just like the police force, the medical realm is no longer a people job.

You need to complain to the CEO of the hospital.
I have never been to an ER like that!
Next time go to a different hospital.
If they sent you home with an injury like that you could sue them.

Summit Hospital, Nashville TN.

If you feel that your condition was life threatening, I'd see a lawyer. Many times, the only way that big hospitals see things is through filing suit.

Write a letter of complaint.

They're bitter and jaded. We in the emergency medical field have all seen our share of sh!t.
