Rent has nothing to do with it. I have a fixed rate and am fine - those with the ARMs with special hidden traps such as huge prepayment penalties are the ones in trouble.

they're taking place. they're nevertheless on the severe end although. 6 months in the past there have been a handful of places. 3 mattress room townhouses, duplexes and whatnots have been interior the $2000 a month variety. you were not allowed smoking or pets. Now, they're everywhere, you may get a three mattress room living house in my section, a sparkling living house for $1200. extra places are allowing pets and smoking, including utilities in on hire money, and advertising that they are going to make arrangements for harm deposit. So despite if the hire itself isn't coming down, there is extra lined on your cash. additionally, people who offered properties in the final twelve months for the objective of renting them out are nevertheless having to pay outrageous mortgages, so they're seeking to interrupt even.

I have no problems paying any of my bills, and saving well over 10% of my net income every month. And, so is everyone I normally associate with.
If you pay attention to the news media, they kick around numbers without context. Example: 50,000 foreclosures (I just pulled that number out of the air, so please no requests for sources) sounds like a lot, but not when compared to the 100 million mortgages out there. (Again, just a number pulled out of the air)
In reality, a very small number of individuals are in dire straits because of the mortgage crisis. And, how does that compare to the normal numbers from any other year? Only slightly higher then normal.

Yep! Not only do I pay one mortgage, but I pay four! On the prettiest little places you've ever seen. And my tenants are all doing a great job paying their rent.
If your job is not providing you with the means to support yourself, you might consider getting out of the wagon wheel business. I hear that those new fangled rubber ones are going to be big.
But seriously, and meaning no disrespect, but just because you're a loser does not mean that the entire nation is struggling.

Yes, but if my medical deductibles and premiums keep going up that might become a little difficult.
Living within your means kinda of changed meaning when congress demanded that creditors bump the percentage of payments up.

Yes, I pay my mortgage (as well as other bills) just fine. I did not get a mortgage loan beyond my means, so this correction did not affect me at all.
There is no recession. The economy is fine. The economists are not Bush's friends at all. So he has no influence on their numbers.

Yes, my family is able to pay all our bills, in full and on time every month.
And, my industry, the hospitality industry, is booming, by the way. People are traveling more than ever, and they are able to pay higher rates than at this time last year. Both rate and occupancy levels are up in the industry as a whole and in my area in particular.

Yes, & my employer is a grinch - but I love her.
As for the recession, well it affects those at the bottom, particularly those who decide to live outside their means. Yes, that includes credit cards.

I'm paying my mortgage. So are virtually ALL the people I originated mortgages for in last five years.
I'm sure you have a great deal of veracity in your own mind, but those of us who are conscious and reality based could use a little reassurance on this one!

Yes, because I make the decision to live within my means. A little personal responsibility goes a long way these days.
