Trust me.. Americans have taste buds... the Brits don't have much to copy since their food taste like senior citizen care center and your taste buds are so fried from the vinegar and curry..... and you actually think eggs with baked beans on them is good?

Puuhllleeeze!

Yes they do eat steak & eggs for breakfast, so do the Canadians but usually if they are eating in a restaurant as they never seem to have time to eat at home before leaving for work.

Obviously if they were trying to copy the British they would be eating bacon & eggs as well and a lot do. Try not to forget that there are a great many ex-pats around the world. There are those, many in fact, that don't eat pork. In fact, there are a lot of people in the UK that don't eat pork and many that won't eat beef.

It's not really revolting and maybe you could try Steak & eggs for dinner or supper sometime.

As I recall in the British movie 'Shirley Valentine", Joe expected Steak & Eggs for his supper on Tuesdays but Shirley fed the steak to the bloodhound and he had chips & eggs instead that night and Joe said that chips & eggs were for Thursdays (well it was Tuesdays & Thursdays not exactly which day was which now - I saw the movie a while ago). People get set in their ways and often don't realise that it's happened.

I don't think we are trying to copy the brits ......... we have bacon & eggs all the time AND sausage & eggs. Steak & eggs are just another item you can have. We also (Black Americans) have fried fish & grits. Whats that have to do with copying. Americans eat a lot of dishes from other countries. People have come from other countries to live here, and they brought their cuisine with them. So we eat a variety of different foods. Thai, italian, jamacian, spanish, german ....... what is the problem?

Brits don't eat bacon. You can't get decent bacon in the UK at all, all they have is a big slabs of undercooked ham and call it "bacon".

If you want to hear about the most repulsive breakfast food try black sausage for breakfast. Makes you loose weight after regurgitating your meal!

Why are we "LOL'ing" and "OMG'ing"???
And it would be, "doesn't it".

The most commonly paired meat and eggs in America, if you really care, would be bacon and eggs or sausage and eggs, also ham and eggs, but "gasp" you can have a breakfast steak and eggs too!!!! OMG LOL!!!!!

HEY!!! Can you hear me across the pond??? STEP OUTSIDE YOUR BOX. There's a great big wide world out here!

It's a popular dish on menus at breakfast houses, like IHOP, Dennys, and Perkins. If any place serves breakfast, it'll be on the menu. It's usually geared towards either hard workers who need to fuel up before a long day, truckers, or a Sunday breakfast treat usually for those who just got out of Sunday church service.

Occasionally, but not frequently. Bacon and eggs is more common, or sausage and eggs.
