Yes, I'm LDS. I decided to join the LDS church because I believe it is the true church of Jesus Christ. I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and the Book of Mormon, which he translated, is true. I believe these things to be true because I prayed to God about them and received answers to my prayers that left me without doubt.
I will give you a couple of links that do a much better job of summarizing our basic beliefs than I could do here:
www.lds.org
www.mormon.org
To answer your specfic questions:
No, we don't believe that black people are the 1/3 of spirits that fell from Heaven with Satan. We believe that all people living in mortality all chose to follow God, not Satan.
Yes, we do believe that we are literal children and heirs of God, the Eternal Father. We believe that we cannot become a perfect LDS, except through Jesus Christ. He is our Savior and only through Him can we be saved and return to live with our Heavenly Father. I don't know about the specifics of what our exaltation will be like. Some have speculated that we will be "gods" (similar to what CS Lewis wrote). What that means is open to interpretation, and I suppose we'll only know all the specifics in the life hereafter.

i suggest you go to www.mormon.org or www.lds.org to find answers to belief questions. we do believe that 1/3 of spirits feel from heaven with satan but they weren't black. we never taught that we will become gods and own planets and make more spirit children if you are good enough and become a perfect LDS?
that belief is always talked about by non mormons. i've never heard that my entire life as a member. i never heard it in meetings or talking to members.

Many of the questions that were left unanswered elsewhere I found were logically answered in the LDS Church. It wouldn't be fair to go into details here for lack of time and space it you are interested go to www.lds.org and read for yourself or ask your own questions. In Revelations it tells about the war in heaven where Satan and 1/3 of the host were cast down. It didn't say anything there about race. Sometimes a little truth mixed into a presentation will confuse your understanding. That's what happens when you try to explain the "becoming gods" part. As I see it the scriptures tell us that we are Gods children and he wants us to be like Him and in so doing we shall inherit the kingdom of heaven as his children. Seems natural that a loving father would want his children to be like him and have what he has. I know this isn't a lot of information but I don't want to confuse you either. God is not the author of confusion. His doctrine is sound and plain. I hope this will help you. God bless you.

There are already MANY good answers here.
Facts about the Church can be found at the websites already offered, as well as in our Articles of Faith (linked below).
Concerning the 1/3 who fell from Heaven: No. Those that fell did not get the opportunity to be born and obtain bodies. They are still in spirit form and will never have the opportunity to obtain a body.
Yes, it is possible. (Pardon me while I find a previous answer to this question and copy/paste it here.) Yes, we do. This is not to say that we believe that all mankind will become as God is, or that all Mormons will become as God is, or that those who do become gods will become greater than God. We believe in the doctrine of eternal progression. This means that we believe that all mankind, Mormon or not will be resurrected and will spend eternity in a place that is perfectly suited to them and that will allow them to be happy and not anxious or miserable. We believe that through out eternity all will continue to grow and learn. Some will EVENTUALLY grow and learn enough to become like God is now. They will be given the responsibility to create worlds and spirit children just as God has done here. However, because God is already "ahead" of them they will not ever catch up to God, let alone surpass Him, so there's no reason to think that we believe that we will ever become better than God (as some think we believe).
I know I went a little overboard on my answer, but I felt it important to explain why, not just give a yes or no answer.

I am born in the Church. We believe that Jesus is the Only-begotten of God. That it is through Him that we attain our place with God.
Someone might have said that of our black brethern, but it not a teaching that I am aware of.
We don't know what rewards we will receive in the next life. the whole having spirit babies and our own planets are an invention of someone by the name of Ed Decker. He was excommunicated for repeated adultry and teaching things that we did not believe.
lds.org is a web-site that was set up by the LDS church to help explain our beliefs. If you have any questions, feel free to e-mail me.

Hello :)
I decided to join the LDS church because I have read the scriptures, and I have prayed to know if they and the Church are true. I now know of the truthfulness of these things, and I have been diligently seeking to learn the word and will of God, and to help others seek after it ever since.
We do not believe that black people were the 1/3rd of the hosts of Heaven that were cast out. We believe that through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, all mankind may be saved, and that if we are faithful, that we may receive the fulness of His glory. Here is a scripture that sums that particular belief up nicely:
"11 And I, John, bear record that I beheld his glory, as the glory of the Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, even the Spirit of truth, which came and dwelt in the flesh, and dwelt among us.
12 And I, John, saw that he received not of the fulness at the first, but received grace for grace;
13 And he received not of the fulness at first, but continued from grace to grace, until he received a fulness;
14 And thus he was called the Son of God, because he received not of the fulness at the first.
15 And I, John, bear record, and lo, the heavens were opened, and the Holy Ghost descended upon him in the form of a dove, and sat upon him, and there came a voice out of heaven saying: This is my beloved Son.
16 And I, John, bear record that he received a fulness of the glory of the Father;
17 And he received all power, both in heaven and on earth, and the glory of the Father was with him, for he dwelt in him.
18 And it shall come to pass, that if you are faithful you shall receive the fulness of the record of John.
19 I give unto you these sayings that you may understand and know how to worship, and know what you worship, that you may come unto the Father in my name, and in due time receive of his fulness.
20 For if you keep my commandments you shall receive of his fulness, and be glorified in me as I am in the Father; therefore, I say unto you, you shall receive grace for grace."
(D&C 93:11-20)
We believe that we may receive the fulness of the record of John.

Please go to www.mormon.org and/or www.lds.org for official information. In the meantime the negro race is composed of God's children just like the rest of us. They are not the 1/3 of the hosts of heaven that fell with Satan. Those fallen angels will never receive their own bodies.
As for our own eternal destiny, the scriptures are sufficiently clear that we can become joint heirs with Christ in the Father's Kingdom. As Christ receives all that the Father has and we become joint heirs with Christ, then we also share in all that the Father has, meaning that we can become like Him. If you can comprehend all that belongs to the Father, then you can also comprehend what is available to you if you live in righteous accordance with all that the Father hath commanded us.
