In my country, unwed mothers typically hang themselves. This is what is expected in India. At least in America and Britain, they show more humanity for human weaknesses.

That doesn't sound like a question but here goes. Common fact, if your a good parent (good job not doing criminal stuff) no matter what your religious affiliation is you'll find that your kids will turn out to be good people as well. Second fact is that without any type of sexual education kids will have sex and while I may disapprove of kids not having sex at younger ages, I do hope that they are at least taking a safe route on whatever choices they make. Third fact is that kids are becoming more sexual at younger ages. Now the question is whether or not this is because of them discarding Christian values or just values in general, or is it because they are being taught about safe sex or is it because of something else. Tough question to answer. I don't see people discarding values needlessly. Being taught about sex at a younger age has actually shown a decrease in sexual activity in kids. I personally believe that its just our culture. Sex sells and it shows. Your best bet is to try and be a good person and someone that your kids can emulate. I'm not saying be a saint, but be willing to admit your faults when the time comes so your kids at least feel like the bar isn't set impossibly high and that they are allowed to make a few mistakes in life.

Why is it particularly virtuous to have a marriage ceremony before having children? Surely what matter is that children are brought up by loving parents in stable relationships. And in the UK Christian marriage - a farily recent concept - has proved itself a spectacular failure, with around 1/2 failing.
In the US only half of couples reach their 15th anniversary. Give it time for the kids to leave home and at 25 years its down to just 1/3. This is because of the strictures and expectations of narrowly defined Christian marriages.
The States with the worst divorce rates are almost universally the ones with the strongest conservative Christian traditions - like Arkansas - while liberal states have married couples that stay together - like Massachusetts where the rate is less than half that of Arkansas.

LOL. You are truly scary if you think people have no values simply because they don't believe as you believe. Your statement reveals more about yourself than about society. People who discard values, irrespectve of religious preference, are the ones having a difficult time with anything. As for underage pregnancy, Mary was pregnant when she was about 14-15. It is society that has changed the norm and called it wrong. As for wedlock, read the bible. The commandment against fornication and adultery were not just becaused of foresight back then. One of the reasons for those commandments was so people could keep track of which kids belonged to which parents.

Newsflash
This isn't the Victorian period anymore. Women are no longer enslaved to sometimes brutal bully husbands(which is worse for the kids to see!). We don't HAVE to get married anymore to ensure that we are 100% committed in a relationship and as it happens, divorce is rife among the so-called religious Christians!
What the hell does the way children are brought up have to do with whether they were born out of wedlock or not anyway? Does being married somehow elevate you immediately to a better standard of parenting? BS! You get good and bad parents regardless of what religion they are or what they believe and being married has absolutely NOTHING to do with how you raise your kids!

Since when does this come down to Christian values? Judaism and Islam preach and encourage kids to have sex and get pregnant out of wedlock?

Oh, give me a break. You don't need religion to be moral. You sound like a religiously despotic tyrant in the making. Humans, regardless of their religion, have been having, and still have, sex outside of marriage and at ages that they "shouldn't" be. In many other countries girls become marriage-eligible soon after their first menstruation. Who's to say this is wrong? Only people like you, probably. You must be really hard to live with, with your holier-than-thou attitude. Do you have a child of your own? If you don't, then stop passing judgment. If you do, take care of your own backyard, as it were, and be as oppressive as you want to be with your own child.

It's because we are backwards. The rest of western civilization embrace a healthy respect for sex and sexuality. We on the other demonize it and embrace violence and death. Our authoritarian culture is why kids are so screwed up. We tell 16 year olds that they can't have sex and have no control yet in two more years we are happy to send them to die in some war. Lets get to the real issue. Anybody care to ask that one?

how does being born out of wedlock make kids screwed up - I'm sure worse kids come from families where the parents are still together but the dad beats the mum senseless every other day...just an example

The majority of people in the world are not children of God so they cannot be expected to live according to godly principles. The world's standards are totally opposite of Gods standards and are dictated by the god of the world who is Satan. Although people still have some sense of what is right and wrong through conscience, most people live according to the desires of their sinful nature, even many professing Christians.

Marriage is socially-sanctioned, long-term prostitution.
Why do you think it is so desireable?
And why do you assume that divorce has anything to do with sex at a young age?
Have you not seen the studies that show children of divorce are less likely to be drop-outs, juvenile delinquets, or drug-addicts? I'm willing to bet you haven't, because those statistics don't play into anybodies religious agenda.
