I believe that if the atheist lives he's life in a good and righteous fashion, doing unto others as he would have done to himself, and also living righteously with his fellow man ,and loving his neighbor as he does himself,he will surely be rewarded by this God.. For this God is a merciful and loving God, whose forgiveness has no boundaries...And God will know the mans heart!! Just as the millions and millions of people before Christ,eg.CHRISTIANS, knew not this CHRIST, or salvation, MUST not perish eternally simply because God is an all KNOWING and all LOVING God...So the answer is both will share this eternity,if both are righteous!! Now, if the christian man dies and there is no God or eternity, he still has lived a good life,he just has been HOOD-WINKED by his fellow man and fooled by the hypocritical acts of his fellow man!! Please, I beg of you, READ THIS!
http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/pascal-wager/
--------
You likely heard the argument you presented in a Church or got it from a Tract or something.
Pascal's Wager was never ever intended as a Religious Proof of God.
Blais chose the existence of God and the rewards and punishments as an example to illustrate his concepts about decision making.
Pascal's wager actually falls apart if you are not an agnostic. If you believe in God then the wager is false, if you actively believe there is no God the wager is false. In fact for it to be a wager you can not believe in your decision even after you make it.
The Wager demands that you ACT as if God either existed or did not exist while accepting that such a question is unanswerable.
The result theologically is that neither a believer or disbeliever is in a winning situation. They both lose.
Even the agnostic loses because if God exists the agnostic is trying to fraud his way into heaven and if God does not exist the agnostic wasted his life acting like he was a believer.
Pascal's wager is a basic part of decision theory and it is all about maxomizing your actions by making decisions based on a utility table. It is about managment by betting.

oh brother, you fell for that one. If everything you believed about jesus is false, then you could have just worshiped the wrong god and your theory about becoming worm food is wrong also. You will suffer whatever punishment the other god has in store for you. As for the scenario being true, just insert any other religion that is claimed by man to be true. In short your scenario provides absolutely no persuasive ability toward conversion, just proof that you have not an ounce of critical thought in you.

Love is the cure for the worlds ills. All work engaged in with love will bear fruit, evenetually. God is a spirit. Religion the paths to the door of his heart. Those who live life in peace, those nobler gifted to bring peace to others, and the greatest who evoke and inspire the purer humanity are The children of his spirit. Be Happy. If you are not able to bring happiness to the world, or to those around you, at the very least be happy. God bleeds when global spirit is in torment or unhappy. We propogate and inspire The Suprem Being and vice versa. A happy god makes for a happy people makes a happy God. The Eternal Lifes {Cycle}{Circle}. Be Happy.

First.Let's say Christians are right about heaven/hell.Who do you think you are fooling??You people are some of the most hateful, lying, non tolerant, follow NOTHING of what Jesus taught,NOTHING.Obsessing only over ignorance,as if the most important thing to get to heaven is to hate gays, and believe ancient Hebrew mythology.Get real.Where is the love that Jesus taught? You fool only yourselves when you think that if you CALL yourself a Christian, god is mocked.God is NOT mocked, the majority of you holy rollers would be "vomited out of Jesus' mouth"
As an atheist,if it's true.I'd rather burn in hell than worship the sick, sadistic, just plain sorry version of your god. Those of you who do it just in case have the morality of a worm, absolutely putrid sociopaths(on your knees,"god you are so great,I love you,who cares that most of my family is burning for eternity?")That is morally REPULSIVE.So,if you'll excuse the pun, atheists have A HELL of a more win/win.Christians,you'll just get kicked out,no Christianity shown here, and you lose anything of moral value by bowing down to the monster who is burning your mother, just to save your own ***.How completely repulsive, disgusting, and sickening

I CANNOT believe the non-sense about god and the bible. If it turns out I'm wrong, so be it. I've lived life this far without god and it's been good and I'll live out eternity without god.
Dead is dead though. We'll all just be worm food.

Pascal's Wager do not be holdin any water no moe.
Enough with all the what ifs. Show us some real proof, that's all. Documentable, repeatable, solid concrete proof for the existence of any deity. and incidental a 2000 year old book based on the myths of Bronze Age goat herders is not proof.

I do.
I will get to spend eternity with Thomas Jefferson, Charles Darwin, Richard Dawkins, and the like, while you will be stuck with Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, Anita Bryant, and George W Bush.

Hey, Pascal - What makes you think the Christian god is the real one? Methinks you should worship all god's, just to be on the safe side.
By the way, you just can't choose to 'believe'. I mean, shouldn't you give your god a little more credit. Surely he'll know whether you're just faking it.
Here's the deal: If you were living in NAZI Germany, don't you think it would be better to join the SS, just to be on the safe side...

You're going to see this name a lot in the answers. Pascal.
The answer is that the Christian has a more "win/win situation." The *problem* is that, as an atheist, we don't have any other option. Belief isn't a switch you can flick on and off. If we don't believe, faking it isn't going to do any good in the long run. If god existed, he would know we were posing.
