Immigration issues are federal issues. This government has already mortgaged the country out to China and Japan to pay for Iraq. So where do you suppose the money should come from to have every illegal person go through a court hearing, then holding and then be put on an airplane back to where they came from. All that takes time and money. The feds have decided a long time ago that immigration is an issue to get the people riled up over and divert their attention away from more pressing issues such as the massive debt, the failure in iraq, the subprime mess, the slow growth of the economy, the devaluation of the dollar, health care, etc. To date, nothing has being done about illegal immigration, except that HALF of the money to build this idiotic fence between the US and Mexico has been authorized. The other half to finish the wall hasn't been authorized and won't be... because the money just isn't there... so you'll have half a wall in the ***** desert. Way to go. The latest rules that went into effect between 02 and 04 that tightened up the system were rules that were passed under Clinton in 96, but hadn't been enforced. So in a nutshell, this government has done nada, zip, zilch... the big goose egg. Besides, I doubt that the powers that are would want to give up their cheap maids, gardeners, chauffeurs, etc. and actually pay fair wages for fair work. Ha... what a joke.

Yes they should leave. My Grandfather was an immigrant and he took the correct steps to legitimately obtain work as well as citizenship. People use the lack of money as a way to not go through the proper channels to come here but he was very very poor ans still managed to put through the correct paperwork.
These people commit fraud and many other crimes to gain the right to work here. They steal social security information and sometimes even ruin the credit of the person who that number may belong to.
A US citizen would go to prison for doing these things, and they complain because they are getting sent back and what's worse is that people feel sorry for them. Get here by legal means and claim discrimination and I will be sympathetic, but until then I'm not going to loose any sleep about those that are receiving a very minimal punishment.

Um, yeah it is.
Why would you think it's not?
The term sanctuary cities is a term these cities have given themselves in an effort to placate immigration rights activists- all these cities really do is become a magnet for criminals.
Illegal aliens have only the right to leave this country not to live in this country- if they were interested in making America home perhaps they should have entered this country like the millions of legal immigrants.

They came to this country illegally. That means that they are CRIMINALS. Sanctuary cities do NOT have the authority to ignore federal law. They are AIDING and ABETTING criminals and are also subject to federal law as CRIMINALS.
Cut off federal funds to the states that have "sanctuary cities" and see how long it takes those states to fix the attitudes of those cities.

Sanctuary cities are illegal. I never heard of such a thing till this fiasco. If people are FLEEING thier country and wanting to be here......file for asylum, speak English, abide by the laws, fly this countries flag...etc. Are we next going to have sanctuary cities for pedophiles, another for drug dealers, another for murderers, another where no drivers licenses and insurance is required, another for those who decide they won't pay taxes, pot smokers only city? I mean where does it end?

Yes, it is right to make them leave any part of our country, since they are here illegally in the first place. When they become legal, they can come back.

Hell yes, if they want to be free of their countries, they can apply to a country they think is better. There is nothing legal or legitimate about a sanctuary city... except we know were to go to find a concentration of "law breakers"

Would you complain if you studied hard for a test so you could make a good grade, and someone else stole the test questions and got the same grade? That's how LEGAL immigrants feel.
I sympathize with people who are trying to work, but if you don't have rules and procedures, you have chaos. The laws the illegals are violating are federal, not municipal (city) laws, so the feds can enforce them if they want.
