One last question about Jesus:
The prophecy (if that is what it is) does not refer to the Messiah, but rather to a military leader, as can be seen from Micah 5:6. This leader is supposed to defeat the Assyrians, which, to my knowledge Jesus never did.
I am a new coming Christian so sorry for all the questions

That is Jesus. He is our peace. But what so many get wrong about that is they do not understand that there is a Second Coming. They do not see the need for it. They think that he should be able to do it all in one visit. But they fail to see that God is not doing things the way they would have Him do them.
What you might be looking for is in Zechariah 14 for on. Read the entire chapter.
EDIT: The Assyrians are living in Northern Iraq. They are quite aware of who they are.

Not at all. Good question.
The Jewish people during Jesus' time had a similar question based on the Scripture. They wanted their Messiah to deliver them from political and social rule by the Romans.
But Jesus' first coming was to overcome a far greater enemy than the Assyrians: our own sin. He offered Himself and won victory for us on the cross.
The prophecy is speaking of Christ's second coming, where He will establish His government upon the earth.
Start w/Rev. 19: 11-21(below) which speaks of the 2nd coming of Christ and continue reading to Rev. 20:
Then I saw heaven opened, and a white horse was standing there. Its rider was named Faithful and True, for he judges fairly and wages a righteous war. His eyes were like flames of fire, and on his head were many crowns. A name was written on him that no one understood except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his title was the Word of God. The armies of heaven, dressed in the finest of pure white linen, followed him on white horses. From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike down the nations. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will release the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty, like juice flowing from a winepress. On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.
Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, shouting to the vultures flying high in the sky: “Come! Gather together for the great banquet God has prepared. Come and eat the flesh of kings, generals, and strong warriors; of horses and their riders; and of all humanity, both free and slave, small and great.”
Then I saw the beast and the kings of the world and their armies gathered together to fight against the one sitting on the horse and his army. And the beast was captured, and with him the false prophet who did mighty miracles on behalf of the beast—miracles that deceived all who had accepted the mark of the beast and who worshiped his statue. Both the beast and his false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. Their entire army was killed by the sharp sword that came from the mouth of the one riding the white horse. And the vultures all gorged themselves on the dead bodies.

You must understand that there will come a day when Christ returns and when He does He shall crush those that appose Him. This is known as the second coming.
Revelations 19:11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Assyrians are not necessarily historical...

Go back and read that scripture IN CONTEXT, dear one. You'll see that Christ was prophesied over 500 years before He was born.
God bless!
