What does this mean if someone refers to me as "родной ."? Does it mean, family or close person to the heart?

In closing a letter, they said "Я целую тебя милый, хороший и родной ".. what does the "родной" mean? thanks

It is usually used to address family members, but it could also mean that you are very dear to the speaker.

The word usually means "a native". Maybe you
speak the language like a native.
