I did an interview about almost two weeks ago. The company told me that they would call me back and let me know. Therefore after it has been a week, I emailed and left the voice message. The company havent called me back. I first thought they were ignoring me. I least wanted the answer whether I would get hired or not. Later I called them again and the customer service representative told me that they were rearranging the office, cleaning up so they would call me back by monday(today) or so.. Do you think I would get hired if they said they would call me back by today or so? They should of told me at least that I did not get in if I wasnt getting hired right if I emailed them and left them voice message? if the customer respresentative told me that the company would call me back on their decision, will I get hired most likely after they clean up, rearrage the desk? what do you think? based on my circumstances?

Let us believe what the customer representative told you !!. Better to adopt a wait and watch approach !!

George,
Remember foremost that the career hunt is a game of numbers. The more places you apply, the greater your odds of landing a job. It's sometimes merely a matter of statistics.

So, don't be setting your heart on any jobs as you do your employment-courtship. Just keep hitting the pavement; be professional; send your thank you letter/note/card; and keep moving on to the next opportunity.

Where I work now took ONE YEAR to be hired. I applied at 29 positions, heard back on three, and the PERFECT one hired me...just be patient!

Good luck - pray on it, and God WILL match you with a good fit, if you place it in His hands first (really!)

There can be many reasons why there could be delays. Most reputable companies will inform you if they chose to go with someone else. If they are shorthanded, it could be why there is a delay. Also, if the position is one that is being newly created, it may not be 'ready'. One thing to consider, if they are this disorganized with you before you are hired, it may be a sad blessing if you do not get hired. You may want to think about how they run their office before committing.

I wouldn't hold my breath. It'll be a nice surprise if they do call you, but I doubt it. The company rearranging the furniture has nothing to do with them making a hiring decision and calling you.

This kind of gutless, noncommittal behavior drives me crazy, but I've come to accept the fact that sometimes people are answering our questions in a nonverbal ways, but still answering.

If they wanted to hire you, don't you think they'd call you ASAP so you wouldn't go elsewhere? Accept the obvious and move on.

It is impossible to know. They would tell every person who interviewed the same thing. All you can do is wait until they call you. I wouldn't call them again since you have already followed up with them.

I guess it depends on your resume. meanwhile start looking for another job and don't depend on this one. I think you should continue sending out your resume. call them again in a few days and if they say the same thing, tell them that you need a straight answer on wether they are intrested in hiring you. good luck:)
