Usually, they take their holidays off, but it comes out of their vacation time. The official holidays are paid, and personal holidays are at her own expense... just like the rest of us.

A lot of smaller Jewish Holidays aren't recognized as National holidays, like Christmas and Thanksgiving, so only Jewish people take those days off so they can practice their religion, but there's no need for other people to do the same

First of all, Jews, and I presume muslims as well, get to take their holidays off by either using sick, personal or vacation time or take the days without pay.
Second, the only purely christian holiday observed on a national level is christmas (as easter is on sunday, not an issue for most). Christmas has taken on, unfortunately, a much more secular meaning and is considered in the same vein as thanksgiving or July 4.

Jewish and Muslim people have to take their own days off for their holidays. That's how it was in every job I've ever had, at least.

I really do not think there is a right or wrong answer here. This countries constitution allows us to have freedom of religion and how we express it or utilize its holidays. Since the majority of this country is chrisitian then I think the other religions make out, we close up shop and celebrate our holiday's if it so happens that we have jewish, muslim, african etec, etc working in our place of business then they to have the right to take that holiday off. Since they have there own holiday's it is there right under our constitution to celebrate that religion. Did I make sense?

You Don't have a choice if you're Jewish or Muslim. I can't go into work on Christmas because its closed. I would gladly because There's nothing to do on Christmas. It's that simple. No one closes schools, banks, post offices etc in the US on the other religions holidays.

I think its because a lot of the Christian holidays have been so ingrained into American culture, it becomes a part(more or less) of the culture to get the day off to celebrate it.
Christians don't get the holidays of other religions off(at least in America) because they aren't ingrained into the culture of mainstream America, they're the culture of those who follow that religion. They get them off because it has a significance to them.

I'm with you, but if you got every religious holiday off from every culture, we would probably only have like a 26 day work year.

To accomodate non-Christian beliefs, most large employers offer "floating holidays" that can be used for things like Yom Kippur, etc. Employees who don't celebrate any other holidays can just use these floating holidays as regular vacation days.

My life has so little to do with holidays. I am not looking to take holidays for the sake of taking holidays. I am also not interested in the US observing anything from a religion that has brought so much harm.
