people are by nature lazy, they will not act until the last minute

I am beginning to think that

Wide spread but subtle propaganda is distorting the truths about Global warming ,with weaved in lies that are undermining credibility,

Some facts may be exaggerated ,so that they can be exploited

Whilst other are hidden because there are no solutions.

Corporations can loose a lot of profits if they would have to change their way of working

Much money is still being made from Environmentally negative operations.

First world Governments are more concerned about depopulation and Global control ,than they are about Global Warming

Many people do not care either about Nature or the future world for the next generations.

In third world countries Many are poor and their priorities are daily survival.

It is a luxury to be able to have a tailor made or designer way of life.

Many are Ignorant of the interrelationship that exist between The Environment and all that dwells in it ,they do not realize that what happens to nature will also affect Us

And then there are those ,who put all of their money on God ,convinced that he is at the wheel.

And it is hard to come to terms with the possibility, that he is nasty, does not love his people any more, lost control of his creations ,or even worse incompetent.

There are many different reasons why some people don't care about global warming.
1. Disbelief. The idea of global warming is a frightening idea that many people don't want to believe. It also used to be Economically detrimental idea, which concerned the business-first crowd. However, while this has changed, sentiments continue to stick around because people rarely like to admit they are wrong and they continue to hold on to their beliefs long past their practical use.
2. "It can't happen to me syndrome." This is rather self explanatory.
3. Short-term thinking. In many cases being eco-friendly is inconvenient or costly. People often think about the needs of now rather than the needs of the future, except for when they are worrying about something they can't change. When the future problem can be changed, people tend to pretend it doesn't exist.
Luckily things are changing and more people are getting involved in the fight to protect our planet.

I think because there are so many people who don't understand what it is about. Sadly it has become a political issue and many people go along with what ever the propaganda of their party is spewing. I think you should keep an open mind and look around you. Do you see changes in your environment? I do. We used to have a creek on the State land next to ours when we first started building. We used to take our dogs down there for a drink and when it was really hot we took a quick dip in there. It has dried up. We used to have several different varieties of wild flowers that bloomed on our property. Some I have not seen in many years. We have been evacuated 2 time due to forest fire threats, we can not fish or camp in the month of August because of all the smoke from the forest fires. We have not had enough snow to ski on in years. My husband has cut down many trees that died due to the drought. Look at the ice in the polar regions. They are now speculating that it will be all gone by the year 2012. Pretending it isn't a problem is the same as putting your head in the sand to avoid a hurricane.

Most people care about Global warming because if they accept the theory they have to do something about it. Therefore the developed world appears to be polarising between those that accept it and want things to happen and those who don't and so don't want things to happen. It is hard to stay neutral.

I think it may be overwhelming. The biggest offenders are the extravagant and wasteful spenders. Gore is one. Why does anyone need a mansion unless you have a lot of children? But the rich do what they want. That's the big problem. The poor are already making sacrifices to the extent they are able to. I'm not sure about the middle class, what is left of it.

partly because there are several schools of thought on the subject and none can fully agree. also some of the same folks pushing global warming are the same people who 20 years ago were claiming we were headed for a new ice age.

Because there are a lot of people who haven't had their heads clouded by the Media hype, and realize that it's a natural cycle that the planet we live on goes through. Or have schools stopped teaching kids about the natural cycle of earth?

Because it is a natural cycle all the worlds greatest scientist agree on that. Greatest means the people who are not paid by liberal organizations to spread lies.

It's too far off to worry about now unless you have kids!

Btw, the way I was planting trees in the 1980s. I'm not a tree hugger though.

because they think that they will be long dead before it affects the planet and they don't want to have to worry about such a serious problem

or they're greedy manipulative S0B's who are making money off the substances contributing to global warming

or they're too stupid to realize it is real
