Yes, theism is a word. Indeed it was a word before atheism was. Doesn't typically have an initial capital though.
My problem with theism is that it has no logical basis whatsoever.

Theistic thinking is an all or none deal. It is an insatiable monster that wishes nothing less than to rule above all forms of government the lives of ever living person at every available moment from cradle to grave.
Not a single theistic religion will rest until it has either drawn it's non-believing victim into it's trap, isolated him or erased him entirely from the face of the earth.
Atheism, simply put, is nothing more than the knowledge that the foundation of theism, that it's God, is only as divine as a half-pound of steaming BS in a in a brown bag...
Atheism makes no demands on those who have recognized the absence of any and all creator/curator/protector/provider metaphysical beings. Atheism is ones own personal commitment to making and then speaking for his own honest evaluation of self and then of the reality in which we all live.

Theism is a word.
I'll give you my take on both.
Atheism's chief problem is "trendy" atheists, doing it to be "non-conformist" rather than because it's what the truly believe. They claim to be atheist because it annoys their religious elders. These "atheists" tend to be excessively aggressive and inflame anger.
Theism's chief problem is fundamentalism. Fundamentalists are so dogmatic that they refuse to acknowledge an outside view or evidence. There are many pragmatic or reasonable theists, but they're invariably shouted down by these bullying loudmouths, and they make everyone else look the same as them.
That's my opinion./

Theism, traditionally has attributes that are similar despite the religious flavor, that are very harmful to mankind.
1. Most religions believe that mankind is inherently evil, which leads to suspicion and violence towards other humans.
2. Most religions teach that their flavor of God will one day be forced to destroy a majority of humans, in order to bring peace. This causes followers to justify terrible behavior in the name of their God, and reject the idea that the future is something to be positive about and to work towards.
3. All religion requires an adherence of faith at the expense of knowledge and understanding at some point. Religions don't like doctrinal changes, so it is easier to reject science than change a religious stance. This is harmful to the future.
4. Even Dharmic religions cause harm in that they seek to create internal peace, at the expense of external providence. Eventually, we would all starve to death, if everyone achieved inner bliss and rejected tangible life. All religion causes us harm in one form or another, some do lead to peace, but offer social collapse in return, others offer eternal life but lead to a rejection of the future and the human spirit.

Atheist opinion: Because religion leads to very tribal behavior where the groups begin to feel as though they are chosen and all others are slightly less than human or down right Satanic. Just like high school football rivals. They're just people. Then all of the sudden they are, 'the other people'.

Daddy's Princess brings up a really good example.
The pious attitude displayed by a great number of theists is one thing I have against theists-
as far as theism? I really could care less what people believe in as long as it doesn't affect my life.

There isn't anything "Wrong" with either Atheism or Theism. Both are (or can be) well thought out attempts to inderstand our world, and find meaning in our lives.

Theism is a word.
There is no problem with either, and i am not an agnostic. There may be problems resulting from acting on extra beliefs sometimes associated with them, or failing to act.

The problem with theists is that they all insist they are right and everyone else is wrong while having no evidence to support their claims. They support ridiculous worldviews and try to impose their worldviews on everyone and completely disregard the separation of church and state.
