My mom has a friend who was originally a client from her business and she was diagnosed with breast cancer a month ago.
My mom doesnt know what to write, should she not mention it at all..that would be kind of ignorant...
should she write that she appreciates her friendship and that if she needs anything, she'll be there to help her, to (try) to enjoy the holidays and the new year will bring new things.
this woman has a 13 year old daughter, so shes very depressed besides having cancer...

....I was so sorry to hear that the year is ending on such a difficult note for you. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I would love to help you out in any way possible because our friendship is special to me.... Then maybe your mom could mention bringing a meal over on a certain day or the first week of January or something. It's always nice to actually DO something, rather than just say 'I'll do anything if you need me to' because a lot of people won't ask for help, you know? Take care.

Wish her a lovely Christmas and add that if she needs anything or would like a chat she is always available. Add that it would be great to get together in the New Year. Her friend may just want to blank out the cancer and be treated with as much normality as possible especially for the sake of her daughter.

I am sorry to Hear that this woman has Breast cancer.
Don't be afraid to say that you are thinking of her and praying for her in this difficult time. She needs all the Prayer and encouragement at this time.Tell her that you have been thinking of her and wanted to stay in touch and if she needs anything that you are only a phone call away. When signing it,Put thinking of you or take care.Don;t forget her after Christmas send her Little cards,That simply say Thinking of you...You can't imagine how much it can lift someones spirits.

Merry Christmas

What you said sounds wonderful. It is good use of words letting her know you are there for her but not pitying her.
Be sure to also inlude a merry chirstmas:) lol maybe an inspiring qoute from the bible too.

Your suggestions are fine. Better to acknowledge what is going on that ignore it. If you ignored it, you wouldn't be the one she would want to talk to when she is ready to talk.
