People who drive and talk w/cell phone stuck to their ear. Most drivers are incapable of driving safely and talking on the phone simultaneously.
Worse then that, people who text message while driving. I had a woman following closely behind me recently, while trying to send a text message - I could see the phone/blackberry in the review mirror - she was holding it with both hands just above the steering wheel.
Those bluetooth ear gizmos - people look soooooooo stupid with those things on.

Oh, where to start?
1. People who wear their blue tooth ear piece ALL the time, so you don't know if they're talking to you or not. Then when they get a call, they just start talking and don't say hold on or anything like that. I was at a church and one of the deacons had his in while he was taking up the offering, looked so cheesy and disturbing.
2. People who talk right into the mouthpiece of their phone like it's a microphone and then switch it back to their ear to hear like they can't just hold it and speak into it and hear at the same time.
3. People who sit and talk on the phone while their children wreak havoc and destruction all around them.
4.People who switch back and forth between talking to you and the person on the phone without telling you when they've switched so you never know if they're talking to you or not.
5. People who have loud conversations in the middle of stores, either because they're having an argument or because they think they have to yell into the phone for the other person to hear them.
That's all for now, but there is much, much more!

Inappropriate, selfish cell phone use. There is nothing wrong using the cell, but why, oh why, do people feel they need to talk so loud??
Example: while xmas shopping for some kiddies, I was in the toy section of a dept. store. This woman was blah, blah, blahing so loud about nothing while standing in the centre of the aisle.
I asked her to excuse me so I could get buy. No dice. Soooo, I pressed a button on a demo keyboard instrument, which drowned her out as it was shockingly loud! She shot me the evil eye, I waved and smiled. She moved on.
Small pleasures can be wonderful!

my pet peeve? i don't get left alone. i'm a very social person, don't get me wrong, but to have a home phone, mobile phone and an email address i'm finding is a bit much. you should hear the grief i get if i don't answer my home phone, so they try my mobile and get no answer there. comments like 'what the point in having a mobile if you don't answer it?! 'doesn't anyone think 'maybe shes taking a bath and relaxing'? to have all the communication methods kind of suggests to people you can be reached at all times, and thats annoying. someone getting stroppy with you because they can't get hold of you is even more annoying!!

Automated phone messages used to handle customer service. They often do not give an option for reaching a human or the system makes you wait until the entire message is played before they offer the option. I'm smart enough to understand that automated systems can help BEFORE I make the call.
It's very annonying and it's a good thing that my phone is so sturdy as I have placed in NOT to gently in the cradle many times.
Peace.

People who talk on their cell phones while in a public restroom. I work at a university and college girls are always doing this. I can't imagine the people on the other end don't think it's strange to hear people pissing and flushing in the background?!

people using text messaging to send messages which should be relayed face to face or actually talking on the phone. also people being distracted by their cell phones when others need help, for example i work in a bank as a customer service rep and my coworkers are constantly on their sidekick so when a customer comes in looking for help, they don't see the customer because they are sending/receiving messages on their phone.

I wish those cell phone signal blocking devices were cheaper. So I could purchase a few and use them, when and where I want.

Well. as your example stated: CELLPHONES. I hate them. I did without them before and I can continue to live without them. I HATE listening to other people's conversations. Why would I care what type of breakfast cereal they want?? Couldn't they make this decision before they had cell phones!!!

Constant cell phone use, and writing in text/chat format where ever it's not appropriate.
