No why would I?

Why not you ask?

When a person sees some object that has webbed feet and hears that it quack the Homo Sapien identifies it as a duck. When it subsequently sees a four legged furry animal that barks it identifies it as a dog.

Where there are different aspects to an idea or object there NEEDS to be different words to identify what the Homo Sapien is observing.

Notice 2 things. . .

There is 1.) the existential object, and 2.) the identification of the object in the Homo Sapiens’s mind. There is no such thing as knowledge with out thought or knowledge without perception of what a person is looking at.

For a statement to be “TRUE” the identification of the object must be understood by a conceptual mind. For instance, the big yellow object in the daytime sky is the sun. Is a true statement.

For a statement to be “FALSE” the mind’s understanding of the evidence presented must be in contradiction with each other.

Where there is no evidence of anything there is no knowledge possible. Where there is no thought or understanding of perception, also, no knowledge is possible. It is literally out of bounds to claims knowledge.

Statements of any other kind are not “TRUE” or “FALSE” but: ARBITRARY. It is evil to label such statements as “knowledge.”

For instance, the statement, “God is truth.” is completely meaningless. There is no good word in our language to identify what the speaker is doing but a close one is ‘plagiarism’ because while knowledge requires evidence and thought as a basis, the speaker uses the word ‘god’ outside of this context; or, in other words, without developing it, i.e. the speaker plagiarizes it. Just arbitrarily asserting knowledge. What basis? NONE at all!

This is by no means a full argument of the issues involved, but this is true of any statement; including .
This and only this an be considered knowledge. Meaning: both; always.

When a sick Christian says you will go to hell and burn and be in utter pain! What do they mean by burn? They can only mean the combination of heat, fuel and oxygen. Heat is a measurement of electron activity, fuel is a combustible such as gas, oil, or wood, etc., and oxygen is an element with atomic mass, weight etc. These are all worldly things with worldly attributes and if such a thing as ’heat’ in hell existed it would be something you could see --- they even define it as such!. Pain of hell? What do you mean by pain? You mean a function of my body; how nerves work. But it is my soul that goes to hell not my bodily nervous system.

There is no more reason to be afraid of after death then if those damnable Christian tell me the ‘boggy man’ will get me. There is no merit to it at all.

No. I don't fear death. Similarly I don't fear living without drugs, however someone with a drug dependency would. That's what religion does, it makes people dependent on things like an omnipotent protector and an afterlife. So the idea that no one hears your prayers, or that death is the end of life seems frightening to many theists, despite the fact that if they had never been taught to believe in those things in the first place they would be absolutely fine with the fact that they don't exist.

Not at all. All living things die. Everything on this earth has an end - sooner or later.

Death is just as much a part of life as birth is..the trick is to KNOW you have a limited time to live; to make something of yourself, to do good, to live an honest and worthwhile life. Make your time count. Live in the day, in the moment, love your family and friends, be a good person, make a difference while you are here. Death is not to be feared....it might be uncomfortable to confront but it is a reality for all of us.

Our time is so very short - it is important to make the most of it.

Not at all.

Life needs an ending to have purpose and meaning.

I really don't think that most people trying to achieve eternal life, have spent enough time thinking it through.

Eternity renders achievement worthless, everything would eventually become boring and meaningless. Once you were done exploring the universe or learning to play the oboe in perfection or eating dinner with Jesus, or furnishing your mansion for the 10 millionth time, life would start to loose purpose.

Eventually Eternity would become a prison, because nothing would have any meaning.

In the end it wouldn't matter if you were spending time in paradise or in burning in hell, either way life would cease to matter.

Religious people find meaning and purpose in this life, trying to achieve a relationship, that will lead to an afterlife without meaning and purpose.

a million. there's no such element as "an atheist view of existence", atheist have not something in straight forward with one yet another previous the reality that they don't have self assurance in a superb being. meaning that what any particular atheist thinks would have not any incredibly bearing on what the different atheist could think of, which in turn skill there is not incredibly answer on your first question as asked. 2. maximum of them atheists i've got understand have certainly studied the Bible extremely appreciably and located it desiring. it incredibly is not that they did not evaluate it, they did evaluate and desperate it became into incorrect. 3. in accordance to maximum Christian coaching your god can choose what's in someone's heart, a "what if" argument rejects that and propose that folk could fake to have self assurance in god no remember if or not they do or not on the off threat they are incorrect. For this to artwork the god in question would could the two be too stupid to appreciate the variation or be the kind of god who rewards liars and hypocrites, when you consider that that's what all of us appearing on a "what if" argument would be. As somebody who's neither a Christian or an Atheist it keeps to puzzle me why Christians do not do as Christ did and be the kind of folk others will decide directly to be and to stay in a fashion that conjures up different to do an analogous fairly of using those ubiquitous "what ifs". Jesus in no way pronounced "what if", why do you?

Not really. I'm actually pretty glad to believe that we rot after death. http://ca.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AskHGHg_ZAs5Dx3yUxA2oBjBFQx.;_ylv=3?qid=20071207160615AAkxw96

Do you think for all the little bacterium cells whether they would end up in heaven or hell? Probably not. Then, why are us humans so special? Aren't us humans arrogant? Bacterias kill people but they do it to live. So is that "right" or "wrong"? What IS right or wrong, when all morals face decadence?

Plus, even if it's not so, it's better to think there's nothing after death because that way you can live like there's no tomorrow, since you don't know if you'll die tomorrow or after 50 years.

Well, I do believe that there could be something waiting for me in the afterlife. But not the God in the bibles, something more sophisticated.

And knowing that this is the only life I've got, it makes me even more wanting to live a better and moral life.

It's not scary since I'm not alone.

RAmen~!

I am at peace with being mediocre.

Humans, somehow developed the ability to think and reason. This is a gift, but also a horrible curse. We will never be content with just living. Humans will always want to feel like they are part of "something greater" to distinguish ourselves from other life forms.

But really, are we any better then other life forms (animals?) Sure, we can build building, be employed, make money... but really, does that improve life? We still have a life span, we still are vulnerable in many ways... all the things we make to make like "easier" just contains us.

Do not confuse a lack of belief in God with a lack of belief in life after death. They are mutually exclusive. Perhaps we are reincarnated, perhaps we move on to a higher (or lower) state of existence. Whatever the case may be...there is no sense in worrying about what you cannot know or control.

I give up. Yes, we are all shaking in fear and hiding under the bed in abject terror that we might get hit by a car if we leave the house. You all now how horrible and evil we are. Why would we take a chance of being killed and end up in your hells that, even though we don't believe in them, we all have horrible nightmares about. We know you are right. We just won't admit it.

Satisfied? Can we stop asking this question now?
