Why fear what is inevitable? Death happens to every living thing. What will happen will happen. I do not fear it.

No, I don't fear death because Christianity is possibly true, I 'fear' death because it means not being with the people I care about. But when I'm dead, I won't remember any of that, so what's to fear?
Do Christians fear death because it's possible that atheists are right?

I feared it more when I was a believing Christian. But a little logic made me realize that the deity described by most Christians simply can't be. It would be so petty, insecure and tyrannical that it couldn't actually by an omnipotent, omniscient being. So if there is a "God", it simply could not act as Christians describe. So I don't worry about anything that could theoretically happen after death. I prefer to bend my mental efforts to the problems of this world.

Actually, any atheist will say that there is no possibility that christianity is true. If you say it is then what is the possibility? What, 1 in 10, 1 in 20, in in 100? How do you calculate these odds?
Your same argument can be turned. Do you fear death because you might believe that christianity is false and the only ones who get into heaven are the ones who worship the ancient Aztec gods? They are just as good as any other religion. They offer just as much "proof" that their gods are real.

I only fear death because I know that right now my family wouldnt be taken care of.
What is there to fear? Either Im right and it doesnt matter, or Im wrong and I made my choice-Im prepared to live (or die if you prefer) with that. I am a moral person, I live the best life that I can, I always stand up for what is right and just generally try to be a good person. If your 'god' wants to ignore all that and punish me just for not worshiping him then I think Id be happier punished than living in harmony with him anyway.

Nope.
I had cancer a few years back. It's a rare kind that I was told was more than likely going to kill me. I'm fine now (and I don't want any of that God crap... nobody ever prayed for me... I just got better just like you can get better from a sinus infection), but I had a lot of time to think about death.
I don't fear death because it happens to us all. I don't want anything to do with a belief system that is based on fear anyway.

nope because fear is what brought religion to be about. for example, the fear of death is one of the reasons that Christianity came about because religion was the safe-zone for people to believe that there is hope somewhere else because those people were sad, depressed, and felt worthless in life and religion was the last resort so people can have faith in something. in class the other day the discovery that the bible was written by 12 theologians and William Shakespeare was one of them led to make a perfect book for people to follow rules... if you read psalm 46 and count 46 words down it has the word will and if you go 46 words up the word spear is read... thus there is no fear in death because it just happens muscle is what keeps our brain alive... i prefer to believe in what neurologists believe.

Do you ever fear death believing that Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism or one of the worlds other many religions might be true?
I see no proof or reason to believe in Christianity or Islam and so forth. Too me, most religions function off fear and false hope.
I like the idea of karma and if I was going to practice anything, I'd probably end up being Buddhist... but I just see nothing to support some all seeing all powerful force that created everything but doesn't step in to fix the problems that are caused in his name.

Okay, to end this question once and for all (yeah right!). No hypothetical. I have a terminal illness. I have about 6 - 12 months. Am I scared of dying? NO. At this moment it would be a welcome respite. Do I think about or ask your god for help or salvation? NO. What I do think about are the things I have done wrong, the things I can try and fix. I have regrets over some of the things I have said and done and I will spend my last months trying to put those things right. So for crying out loud will you just accept that we DON'T BELIEVE IN YOUR GOD!!!
