Yes. You'll need to download and install program from www.pspvideo9.com It's free. It converts almost any video to PS3's format. Transfer the converted movie via external HDD, flash stick or burned CD to your PS3.

I could go on for days on how the PS3 and the 360 are different. I really is about tastes. The elite may seem cheaper than the PS3, but your also getting less. I'll explain. The elite comes with HDMI like the PS3 and it has a larger hard drive, but the PS3 comes with a hig-def blu-ray drive. If you want it's competitor on the 360 (HD-DVD) the external drive will cost you about $200 retail. Also, the PS3 comes with Wi-FI B/G included, whereas the Microsoft adaptor for the 360 system costs you about $100 retail. The PS3 has bluetooth technology for headsets, keyboards etc., and the 360 does not. The PS3 also has the PLAYSTATION Network, which is like Xbox Live, but is for free. Whereas Xbox Live can cost you about $50 for a year of service. For right now, the 360 is a better choice, but I think that soon the PS3 is gonna take over because it really is the High Def. powerhouse. The Elite is just Microsoft's way of trying to keep a strangle on the PS3 from taking it's place in the High Def gaming market.

In theory, yes - but it has to be in a format that the PS3 will recognize...
Or you could always just BURN a disk - and watch them THAT way ;);););)
