If you had God's POWER, how would you exercise moral judgment & manage things differently in today's world?

If I were God, I would not change a thing. God has a perfect system. Sometimes we don't understand it, but later on we will.

I would instill parents and those in loco parentis with the realization that they need to teach kids how to make moral judgments, and not just a list of rules they should memorize. A parent would not merely tell the kid a thing was wrong, but WHY. That is, explain the general principle involved. For most situations, some variation on the Golden Rule is enough.

As to having God's power, I take that as a metaphor. I don't think it is up to any god to exercise moral judgment: that's humans' job.

And as for managing things differently, if I had the kind of power attributed to God in the Bible, I would manage things better by installing some sort of instant teleporting system, so people could move around the globe easily. We'd all get to know different people and places, shop in the place where something originates, etc. We do it now in virtual reality with the Internet; I'd make that include in physical reality. It would also cut down on or even eliminate pollution, as cars and buses wouldn't be necessary.

Wow. I guess I would devise a new "plan" that would allow for me to reward the good and punish the wicked. I would also be much clearer about what was good and what was wicked. Karma would be swift and sure, for one thing.
Cheat on your spouse? Start pi$$ing blood.
Kill someone? Your arms fall off.
Think seriously about sexually abusing someone? You get hit by a bus.
Disrespect your folks? Pimples - lots of pimples.
Say something nasty about someone behind their back? Stomach flue.
Stand in my planting beds for no reason? Athletes foot for a month!
Random act of kindness? Get one in return.
Help the needy? Be adored.
Spend your life helping others? Always have money to do so.
Work hard and be honest? Always have the most excellent good luck.

Gee...this is fun. The list would be only a couple pages, though, anything you like that does no (undesired) harm to others is OK...as long as y'all are adults. Just be nice to others and keep out of my planting beds and we will all have a great time.

The first thing I would do, would be to reveal myself in a tangible way to all mankind.

I would feel like I had a moral obligation to give each man a true choice of belief, verses being mislead into oblivion.

I couldn't morally justify giving the devil an equal shot at the expense of eternal torture for humans born into an evil world. Its just wrong, even if it is called free will.

By revealing myself I would present a true choice for the worlds population.


I would also do away with that whole capital punishment for eternity thing. Torture is morally reprehensible, and doing it to even the worst person forever is incredible abhorrent.

But thats just me.

If you are to become like God, you need to practice, you need to learn. God give you the chance to do justice and learn so you will some day will be able to sit by his side., If you want to. God cannot learn for you. When you go to Schiller, teachers teach you. You learn, nobody can learn for you. All the events happening happen for a reason. Just try to learn and remember, you are a bit of God, so do not ask why God allows something; say why do I allow something to happen? You are God, help the world, make a positive contribution, that is your role and destiny. If you did you will be well compensate for your effort!

1 - I would make all weapons ineffective (and any item not meant to be used as a weapon would be ineffective if somebody tried to use it that way.) Violence would be reduced to fistfights.

2 - I would make it so that no woman would become pregnant unless SHE herself specifically did something to make this occur. (Sexual intercourse on its own would not cause pregnancy.) That way, no woman would ever be pregnant against her will. No more worries about fundies trying to take away birth control and abortion rights; no more unwanted pregnancies, EVER.

3 - I would use my power and influence to create a new, world-wide Age of Enlightenment. Everybody would become a Deist. They might believe in a god, but nobody would be a religious fanatic anymore. There would be no more atrocities committed (or falsehoods taught to children) in an effort to please a deity.

If I had God's power, I would end the world and send all the bad, selfish and hateful people to hell. But I don't, and I would probably suck at being so powerful. I just hope the end is near, and God's justice would be implemented.

I would just punish the ones who really deserve it like child molesters and murders. Maybe some liars who affect the world and causing problems as well.
I'm not going to say I'm going to smite other people because they don't believe in God or in that case "me". I respect people's beliefs and that's how it should be!

I'd start with... instant bliss for all. End suffering and apologize. Let people have their own planets in the infinite time/space along with a limited immortality and let them have their own go of making a nice world if they want. Maybe turn it all into a giant onion a moment later because I'm bored.

I would make all hot chicks love me. I would also raise the temp a bit so they can go back to the way god intended and they can run around naked having pillow fights.
