Our puppy is sick and won't drink water. We have a vet appointment for her today but we want to make sure she stays hydrated. We added a little apple juice to it and she drank a little but won't touch it again.

Any tips on how to get her to drink her water?

If you've got a vet appt. today, she'll be fine until then.
What you can do is simply wipe the water around her mouth - it will make her lick it off. This won't give her a ton of water, but it'll help keep her hydrated.

Leave her alone and just go to the vet. If you are going today, she will be fine until then.

Unless you REALLY have a clue, DO NOT try syringe feeding water if you have a vet appointment today!!!!! There is a risk that some of the fluid can get into the puppies lungs and cause pneumonia...which can be fatal.

I know when my puppy would not eat I would put it in my hand and let him eat out of my hand. You should try the same with water. That might comfort her a little bit.

get a syringe filled with sugar water and place it in her mouth your puupy could get dehydrated putting her life at risk, yes u do have a vet app. but at what time? it could be too late so in order to prevent this make sure you keep your baby hydrated. i have gone throught this many times i 3 dogs of my own.

Have you tried putting it in your hand? Maybe she'll lick out of that?

Good luck! Hope she's okay!
