I installed that At&t Norton antivirus the other day and it has messed up my computer ever since. I went to the symantec website and uninstalled it, and in my add/remove programs (hopefully) and my computer is still restarting on its own when I'm right in the middle of something, it just shuts down and restarts. Can anybody help me solve this problem? Thank you!

I'm assuming the version of Norton was the correct one for your system.
When you install it the program asks you to run a scan to make sure there are no virus' on your system pre-install. I hope you let the scan finish.
As you are still having problems after un-install it sounds like you may be infected with something...possibly.
There are other anti-virus programs out there....mcCafee seems to be another favorite.

As a computer engineer/consultant, I would never tell anybody to buy Norton antivirus. I have never come across any other anti virus that is so invasive. This has gotten worse year by year and they will not listen to the customers. I would always reccommend McAfee antivirus. It does what it says on the box and leaves the rest of your PC alone. If needed, save all data, reinstall windows and McAfee and send the Norton disk to your worst enemy for Christmas.

Yeah, Norton has had a rep for being one of the ^&*%iest virus scans out there (with good reason.) Because of all the stuff they MAKE you put on the comp so you HAVE to use them, you just about have to reinstall your OS just to get rid of the freaking thing. If you have a backup from before you installed the Norton I suggest you do a system restore from that point. If not, then back up all your data and just reformat.
I know, Norton is full of it...

serious problem. Don't try do it again
instead, if you have not install any other important softwares, use the system restore function to roll back to the earlier stable condition. I assume you know how to do this.
