Unlike all other creatures, God created man in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:26). He gave man the ability to have a relationship with Him. Man had the capacity to understand and live by the same spiritual laws that God Himself lives by and that are part of His character. If we exalt ourselves by imagining that we are the highest form of life in the evolutionary process, we in reality are robbing ourselves of the priceless value God places on us. Our existence and future are devalued from being children of God to being only one of many species of animals. It is tragic that man has substituted the cheap feeling of self-importance for the priceless privilege of becoming God's own children, of sharing the awesome universe with Him in glory and immortality.

I love the fact that the answerers seem so offended.
The person who quoted the bible is hilarious. Like a bible write by a man would ever put humans with animals. It doesn't matter what was written ages ago. They said most of that stuff based on observation just like scientists but they put it into religious context because people were simpler and less informed.
Now you have ways to prove things. Don't rely on such simple words by the lesser of the human race. We are more advanced now.
We are the classification of animal in so much as we can fathom. That's all.
Religion is destroying humanity and the world. When will we all wake up and see it.

No we and animal dont fall interior the animal kingdome yet comparable no longer authentic. And if we did fall interior the animal kingdome then why doesnt the animal speaks like us. And the animals are no longer gays. somebody made up that 2 gorlas replaced into gays and the reason of this the guy replaced into gay him self. So he tried to make us idots yet he's a greatest idots of all. we and animals are comparable in existence yet a diffrent creation then animal and as a result we dont fall in animal kingdome.

Of course we do.
Let me ask you this - if you take your dog to the beach to watch the sunset, does it appreciate the beauty?
No, for lower animals cannot.
Why is this? They were created lower than us. Humans are the only animals that can appreciate beauty.
Just as humans are created lower than angels, so are other animals created lower than humans. Humans were put in dominion over other animals.

Church folks think humans are special cause they have souls.
They haven't specified what a soul is exactly, but it's supposed to be something that lives even after the brain is dead.
Supposedly it's alive enough so that it has the capacity to suffer in hell.
Church folks say that other animals don't have souls, only humans.

Some clearly do not, based on the answers that are posted here.
And to the people who think we're different than animals because we have spirits, the eyes are the windows to the soul, and when I look in my cats' eyes or my dog's eyes, there is definitely something there more than their eyeballs.

christian didn't move forward from the 15th century where anthropocentrism predominated...everything created for human genre and all those things...personally i am an atheist and vegetarian and i'd like everyone to be convinced not only that man is only one of the species, but that we have no right on other animals

No. They believe that we are somehow better than animals and have a spirit and will somehow cheat death. Honestly, I wouldn't want to live forever. That would get old after a while...
