when i wanted to fall asleep i would take one pill of benadryl. it's an allergy medicine yet it contains a sleep aid, it would knock me out pretty fast, also you can take one pill of tylenol or advil PM which will knock u out or you can take those new over the counter sleep aids, Unisom- its OTC and non habit forming.

I have insomnia very badly and I use to use benydril until it no longer worked and I took more than I should have and landed in the hospital with heart palpitations....so I'd avoid that at all costs, it's not worth it and will mess you up.

If it is insomnia, Long lasting insomnia go to the doctor and have him prescribe you a sleeping medicine, although there could be other causes, mine is anxiety disorder and my anxiety meds knock me out..the best sleep I've had in years.

Are you in Australia? It's sure not hot, stuffy, and humid where I live. We are supposed to get over a foot of snow in the next few days. Anyway, I make up stories in my head. This either makes me or breaks me. Most of the time I fall asleep instantly. Sometimes it's the opposite and I find myself wanting to get up and write the story down. Before you think the worst, it's nothing sexual., Just, for fun, stories about made up people. TV never works for me. It keeps me awake. Reading helps, too, especially if it isn't the most interesting of books.
