Oh, so you arrive at your question only by ignoring the thousands of Gods that have been said to exist?

It seems to me you have a much less than 1% chance of being right.

Well, I think you know the answer to that question. You must be a christian. I mean, obviously being in a wonderful city in the clouds for eternity doing whatever you please under rule by a guy who hasn't shaved since the beginning of time is better than rotting away in a wooden box six feet under the ground with maggots consuming every oraphis in your body (and creating new ones).

But you have to remember that believe isn't fact so its not a case of atheists will rot and christians will convinve god to shave... what happens when we die will never be known by the living so i therefore think your questions lacks clarity...

A) atheist.

Motivation.
With the christian belief you either go to hell forever or , if you are lucky you can live forever in perfect peace, this last one is what most people would choose if they could.

With the atheist belief, there is nothing.
Its over. no suffering and no eternal peacfull life.

Are you willing to take the risk of eternal suffering ?

So if whatever they belief is true about eternity, then atheist are far more better of.

This is an odd question. You are not comparing like with like. This is about belief not who is 'right'.

If the Christian who believes in an afterlife dies and then is proved right by having an afterlife then presumably (if they go to Heaven) the Christian is better off.

If the atheist is right and there is no afterlife then they cease to exist and it won't matter really matter to them as they will be in oblivion.

Christians would be... that only makes sense though...

Atheists views are based on perception of the universe as we know it and understand it. Logic and reason.

Christians views are based on desire. They have created a story that matches their morals and ideals and rewards them based on that. If you follow their rules; you are rewarded. If you go against their rules; you are punished.

So given one based on mere happenstance circumstances and one that supports the ideals of the individual; It would be obvious which would be better assuming it were fact.

I don't see your point though ? You're merely referring to Pascals Wager. To base your beliefs solely on personal gains or rewards... Is that why you are a Christian ?

The Christian is,because their belief will be rewarded with eternal life.
If the atheist is right,he still loses, because there's nothing out there-game over !!

The Christian, of course.
However fundamentalist Islamic terrorists believe they are destined for a special section of paradise reserved for prophets and martyrs, so I guess they're better off than the Christians if they're right.

Also, if any one Christian sect is correct, a huge number of other Christians are going to hell which would make them far worse off than we atheists.

To choose one of your two limited answers would be the biggest cop-out. The real answer is neither. Death is the great equalizer.

You know there are other religions that don't belive in God as well. Why pick on only the atheists????
Why don't you respect others decisions and religions and stop asking lame and childish questions. You don't like it when people offend your religion but yet you are doing the same? Hypocrite.

Sorry but just because Christians believe they will go to heaven does not make it so. Or else, we'd have to vote for the suicide bombers who were promised so many virgins on the other side!
