Two ways to look at it.

One it is cheaper and simpler. The funeral directors will hate it for not adding as many extras as they want, though they will still try.

Second, as far as God's view, it does not matter as far as resurrection is concerned. Think of all the prophets who died faithfully. The human bodies have turned into dust by now. What is important is they are in God's memory.

Jesus' resurrection is the best example. Not only was he restored to his spirit creature status, but every memory of his prehuman existence was also restored. This is a tremendous boost for all of us that God can do that no matter how long we are dead.

It's a lot cheaper. Better is subjective.
