At the last supper, Jesus tells His disciples that “…if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one” (Luke 22:36 NIV
“When a strong man, fully armed, guards his palace, his possessions are safe." Jesus Christ (Luke 11:21)

Nope.
This is why our blind belief and patriotism about our place in the world is really just a lie we create to feel morally justified in our position.
The theory that God Loves America and has a special place in his heart for the country, is a nice way to ignore the reality of what we really have to do to maintain our way of life.
Not that I am against what we really have to do, afterall, my children and I benefit tremendously from it, but I do have to be honest.
No country has hands that are clean, not even mine.
I guess you could make the claim that Nepal tends to turn the other cheek, and to my knowledge, they have yet to attain superpower status.

Is there a superpower that does that? In a world pretty much run by men, this approach would not be met with respect. Too bad some people can't understand that many times it takes more courage not to fight than to start a war.
And before the right-wingers jump all over me, there are times when a fight must be fought. WWII was one of them. Korea, Vietnam and Iraq, however, are not.

When Christ said that, he was speaking about the actions of individual people, not nations. I don't see how a nation can survive if they do that as a policy, but if every individual did that, the world would be a lot better place.

Because it takes more courage to turn the other cheek than to seek revenge. A country that turned the other cheek would be a leader because you lead by example.

Are you talking about the U.S.?
If so, who said they turn the other cheek? This country simply wins wars... that's what makes us a super-power. War is war and forgiveness is forgiveness... two different ball games.
God bless.

If those to whom one keeps turning the other cheek know that one doesn't HAVE to and could get fed up at any time, one remains a super-power.

Super-power turns the other cheek because we are but insects before that super-power.
