What about one of his favorite toys? Maybe a cute little Tonka Truck drawing next to his name?
Think about what makes him special in your eyes. Is there something that makes you think of him, as soon as you see it?
Is there something he loves to play with, or eat?
I'm sure you'll find that special something.
Good luck!

How about a Teddy Bear with a big blue bow around his neck, or a toy train surrounding his name.

BTW, putting your child's name in a tattoo is the only time I don't try to convince folks not to put another person's name on their body.

Congratulations on the new son.

Don't get a tattoo. It seemed so cool to get one today but 20 years from now when it fades and is no longer in style you will say to your self, "what was I thinking"

Look in the long term!!!

what's his favorite animal?
have him list of a bunch of animals that would be okay inkin on your body, and chose the one that you think woould be the best.
that's what i would do, it has sentimental value since it's his favorite animal, or one of them.
