If the paper will not come off, you could cut it off. Use a very sharp knife (a serrated bread or tomato knife will be best for this), and cut just behind the paper, holding the knife in a vertical position. Cut very finely, just enough to remove the "rind" (as though you were peeling an apple or potato). BTW, I don't use greaseproof paper for my tins -- brown paper is best (with the pan buttered first, then applying the paper, then buttering the paper again, generously.)

Moisen the sides of the cake with orange juice , use a pastry brush to paint it on. When the cake starts to get damp the paper should start to peel away in bits. Use icing or marzipan to cover and rough bits once you have done this as the sides will look uneven due to the paper pulling bits away. Only way to do it without vutting the cake gently with a sharp knife.

Ohhh no - only thing I can suggest is a sharf knife and take it right round the outside of the cake removing about 1/4 inch.

Maybe take a slither off the sides of the cake, paper and all.It shouldn`t show if you are fully decorating it or just putting on a frieze.

Stab cake with a fork, and then wet the paper with either fruit juice or alcohol - get it quite wet, leave it a few minutes and then it should peel off okay - good luck!!
