Me and my girlfriend broke up, she gave me my key back and put all of my stuff from out of her apartment on the front door of my apartment. I broke off the relationship the best and most polite way I could, because I'm young and I don't want to be tied down in a relationship. She also gave me my key back during that time, so now that we are friends, she 's becoming clingy. I'm going to visit my family for 2 weeks and now she expects me to give her a key to my apt after I changed the locks. It's hard because I feel uncomfortable giving anyone the key to my luxurious bach. pad ;-) I know this will crush her if I tell her that I don't want to give her my key. Should I trust her to give it to her and owe it to her? Am I being an a**hole, or should I just bite the bullet and grow some balls?

She says that I'll need someone to look after my place while I'm gone. She says she's goin to miss me while I'm gone, so she wants to sleep in my bed and just be around my stuff while I'm gone.

Do not give her your key. That will only make this relationship confusing.
You shared keys when you were living together. That for whatever reason did not work out. When and IF you ever decide to live together again , then and only then, will she have a key. Next time she asks, look at her like she is insane and dont get into a big thing. Just say Not Gonna Happen. and if she continues, say that is it, end of subject.
Grow Balls, she like balls not pussy.

Balls are in order here. You have broken it off. It's not like she is feeding your cat, she has no reason to have the key. Why would you "owe it to her"? Don't give her a key. There is no good reason. You are not being an ****** at all. Just tell her you will be gone two weeks, you have notified the post office to hold your mail, you have stopped the paper and asked your neighbors or the landlord to keep an eye on your place, and there is no need for her to have a key. You have already paid to change the locks, if you give her a key you will have to pay to have the locks changed again later.

No.. do not give her your key unless you are comfortable with her. Knowing she will not destroy what you have. Do you have an animal or plants that need tending to.. Call one of your guy friends to help out or a neighbor you trust. Just let her down gently.. tell her you have already made arrangements.. no harm ,no foul. Good luck..and have fun with your family.

I bet if you give her the key she may use it to seek revenge for you dumping her? or maybe not but do you really want to have to change the locks again in case she gets one cut?
Maybe you could put it in a nice way that you could not feel comfortable giving the key to anyone.

Let me just say this.If u two were so much involved to where she had your key then broke up.Well she does not see u as a friend. She is trying to get back into your life to become your woman again. So you need to ask yourself this.Do u want her to be your woman again? This is what her attentions are.My advise to u is to give your parents your key to watch your place while your gone.If she asks say," oh I already gave it to so and so."I didn't want to impose on u."Good luck..

Technically, your ex still think that she is cling to you still. So, my advice to you is that if she has nothing in your apartment, there is no need for you to give her your key. Besides, you don't know what she is capable of doing w/ that key, for instance she could make a copy and god knows what she'll be doing with that. So NOOOOOOOOOOO!

No way! thats your key and she probably is still attached or is attached to the thought of not being alone. Until your relationship is on solid grounds and you are a couple orreally close again keep your keys to yourself she probably just wants to snoop.

No do not give her a key. She could pop up to your home at anytime. I am sure that you don't want to have that type of drama in your life. I know that you would want to have the comfort of knowing that she can't come into your residence when she likes to.

Don't give her the key. You are not a couple and you don't want to be. She has no reason to have it and giving it to her gives her hope that you'll be getting back together. This will lead to nothing but trouble.
