Nope, a 7 week old puppy does NOT have rabies.

No. It's highly unlikely. Your pup would have to have been bitten by an infected animal. Has your pup been bitten by any dogs that are unvaccinated? Has your pup been bitten by a wild animal? At 7 weeks, your pup should still be with mom.

I'm also pretty certain that the natural immunity from mom carries into the pup but some of the breeders here can correct me. If mom was not vaccinated properly and your pup was bitten...

As I said, it's highly unlikely.

Take your pup in to the vet for it's first set of shots and discuss rabies with your vet. They can explain exactly how rabies is transmitted.

Which pup exactly? And if you're referring to a specific pup, how are we supposed to know?!

Rabies is a virus that is transmitted through blood and/or saliva i.e via bites. There is no cure once symptoms are present, but it can be vaccinated against. The virus incubates for at least 14 days, sometimes for years, so it's unlikely a 7 week old pup would have it, and if it did the owner would know there was a chance it had been transmitted i.e would notice the pup had been mauled!

In my adventure with the doggies that have been raised in my abode, all doggies will chew something and each thing. I even have had 2 that decide directly to chew hands additionally. you're able to coach them that it incredibly is not allowed. It enables to shout ouch! and then turn faraway from them. while they calm down and behave the bathe the doggy with affection. this would practice him what's suitable. No, i don't think of its attainable that your doggy has rabies. He could not if he's in no way been bit. he's in simple terms being a common doggy. do not subject, this point oftentimes passes at some 12 months old.

All dogs have rabies. You need to go to vet to get a shot for rabies and you need to take it to the vet every year for it. Rabies dont go away or cant be treated. Its in every animal. If the animal bites you and it didnt have a rabie shot then you might get rabies. So thats what that shot is for, but you need to get that shot for you dog every year.
