Any tips on workouts that would be beneficial?

Also any input on equipment I purchased - Freestanding Heavybag... any experience with using the freestanding versus the hanging? What's your opinion?

...Don't waste your money and that stuff, when you could go down to Walmart and buy yourself the Billy Blanks Tae Bo 4 Pack Combo Set.

The freestanding bags move much less and so they are always there for you to hit or kick so they don't require a training partner to stand there and hold them. The hanging bags move around a lot more so you can also work on moving with the bag a little better as you throw kicks and combinations while the bag moves off to the side or back, away from you. You can also work on some timing aspects while it moves towards you as well. The problem is hanging them and if you don't have a good place to hang one that will support it and let it jump and swing around a little then I would opt for the freestanding one. Also if a bag moves too much then you have to tie it down at the bottom to something like a sand bag or have someone hold it. There are other training apparatus like headache bags, double end striking bags, speed bags, that can help enhance your skills besides a heavy bag that will allow you to develop these skills also. Century had an XXL wave master that is freestanding and is excellent since it is so tall and gives you a low enough bag to work thigh level kicks as well as high head shots but I think they may have stopped making them. Some bags in general are not as tall or long and as good for this as some others so keep that in mind as well if you want to work lower kicks.

If you are training by your self the freestanding one would be better. For the hanging one move around Alot. Use your arms, hands, legs, feet on it to toughen them up :)
Hope that helps
