Denture cleaning tablets (like Efferdent). Put a tablet in a glass of water and pop the retainer in. Effervescing will clean the retainer pretty well.

Way back when I had a retainer, the dentists said to use the fizzy denture cleaning tablets.

DENTURE CLEANING TABS. LIKE EFFERDENT WORK GREAT. JUST PLACE IT SOME LUKEWARM WATER AND DROP A TABLET, RINSE AND WEAR IT AFTER IT SOAKS FOR A FEW HOURS.
