You should only give Books, Tools and Money to friends if you can afford to lose them.... that includes the friends.
Get wise by taking something in return "as a downpayment" but make sure it has a greater value than the cost of the loan.

she isnt a true friend if shes treating you like this and taking your money without repaying you, you deserve better friends. ive had 'friends' like this in the past who would constantly ponce money off me and never give it back, there could be simple reasons like theyve forget or tight with money, but she seems to realise she still owes you it but failing to admit it. i think you should either talk to her and explain that you dont want to ruin your friendship over money and ask her to repay, or forget the money and never lend her any again so she will learn shes lost your trust.

Look at it this way, you paid $10 to find out if this person is trustworthy...... that's a deal! Also, she won't be bugging you to lend her anymore money. In this world there are "givers" and there are "takers" and now you know she's a taker....... just thank god it wasn't more she took. Surround yourself with "givers" like yourself, and let the "takers" feed off of themselves.

That's no friend! You need to just cut her off and refuse to have anything to do with her until she can make the time to get things straight with you. It obviously is making you angry and she is not having a proper attitude about the whole thing. If it meant that much to her to have that, she needs to realize you need that money as well.

Treat it as a lesson not to lend money to people. I know it sounds harsh but some people out there are just rubbish and bugger life up for the rest of us!!
