Hi, i am an avid fitness enthusasist, i play tennis, and i workot 4 - 5 times a week... if u want to get rid of the pouch that u say you have, you need to first burn it off.... doing just situps will not eliminate this.. you will need to do more cardio fat burning.. try doing running, treadmill, or some sort of cardio machine for 30 mins 3 times weekly... Do ab exercises along with this,, and believe it or not.. u only need 5 - 10 mins of ab exercises 4 times a week.... anyone who tells u otherwise does not know/

You will need to eat better, give yourself one junk food day a week where u can sneak in a few cravings that u might have.. the rest of the week, eat good carbs, like brown rice, yams, potatos, vegetables, lots of protein and salads... eat 5- 7 times a day to boost your metabolism.

First off, congrats on losing so much weight...55 lbs is very impressive. But, to answer your question, i would suggest doing more cardio to burn off that little extra fat. I know it might seem possible to target a specific area for fat reduction by doing certain exercises (for instance, crunches to burn fat in your midsection) but it's not actually realistic. Your body burns fat from all over your body and tends to take it from the areas with the most to lose (breasts, butts, bellies) first. Doing crunches will give you a nice set of abs but they won't get rid of that excess body fat. You CAN NOT turn fat into muscle. It is physiologically impossible. Fire up the elliptical/bike/treadmill and get after it.

It will also help if you eat "right"...but, it would appear that you figured that out 55 lbs. ago.

Keep up the hard work!

Try swiss ball. It is very effective for abs area.

When you do a crunch on the floor your upper abs muscles are working. When you do it on the Swiss ball, your core muscles; which consist of all the muscles in your abs area, muscles in your back, your pelvic area and hips are working to help keep you on the ball. You are working more muscles so you actually increased the value of your exercise.

You could do crunches for your upper abdominal area and leg lifts for your lower ab area. Start slow, seriously, only a few a day, and just gradually build up, you could be doing hundreds in a month or two. Guard your back!!!! Do not do regular situps they can hurt your back.

congratulations!!
and i used to have that same "pouch" and what you do its kinda like a crunch. but here.

1. lay flat on the ground
2. lay your hands on top of each other
3. push toward your toes and slowly come up
4. then slowly come back

i cant really explain it . Hope that helps

To lose that last little bit you need to get really strict with your diet and do more cardio. Crunches will strengthen the ab muscles themselves, but that's not the problem it's the layer of fat over them you want to get rid of.

Diet.......Cardio

Good job on your progress by the way.

You may need to seek out medical help. Most people who loose a dramatic amount of weight have extra skin that will hang. You can not get rid of dead tissue under the skin or the extra skin without surgery.

Best thing is moderate overall exercise, heavy on crunches and eat 6 small healthy meals a day.

The diet and exercise will help trim your waist and the crunches help tighten the muscles.
