I'm making red velvet cookies for Christmas this year, and I'm an amateur baker. Can I replace the vegetable oil with canola oil, since it's a little healthier? Will the texture change at all if I do? Thanks in advance!

Yes you can.
If you want to go even healthier you can just forget about the oil and use twice the amount of apple sauce in place of oil. It doesn't change the flavor and it's a lot better for you.

Yes that should not make a difference. I second the apple sauce comment though, although i would only replace up to half of it.

I do it all the time. I alway have canola oil in the house.
The taste will be just fine.

Happy cooking.
