The ministry of the Holy Spirit is a serious issue in the church today.
1. People need to hear God in their lives.
2. People need to learn how to communicate with God.
3. People need to learn to discern God's voice from another voice.
Telling people to"open their bibles and read" is not showing them how to walk with God.
Rev 3:20 Behold I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me.

Just be careful of the things talked about and you will know where the words are coming from. Obviously dont do something against the Will of God. Your heart wil alert you of His words and worldly words. Just pray and concentrate on the bible. that way, there will not be any mistakes.

It depends. If it is loving and promotes the well being of all who are involved it is thought with God.
If it promotes your best interest without regard for the well being of others it is the ego.
The God that tells bush and others to go to war and risk the safety and well being of others while he sits safely in the white house, is not the real God in my opinion.

I've always said: It's amazing how much like themselves most people's deities sound. Happy, optimistic people have loving and peaceful deities. Angry, disappointed people have strict, dictatorial deities. And somehow, they all are "speaking the word of God."
(Yay for personal gods; you can interpret them to say exactly what you want to hear.)

The Bible is the word of God. With the exception of prayer there is nothing more important than studying the Bible.

God's Word IS His way of speaking to us, why do you think we quote scripture so often? Telling someone to open their Bible and read is telling them to listen to God. Telling someone to pray is telling them to speak with God.

God speaks Through people. But if what they say doesnt line up with the word, it isnt God speaking.
