I'm currently reading a book called "Apocalypse 2012" and it's a scientific approach to the Mayan end times (12/21/2012 11:11PM). I’ve always had a fascination with post-apocalyptic survival scenarios. How do you feel about the end times? Of course, 2012 is regarded as sort of a rebirth, or new age. But with the coming of a new age there is much death.

It's the end of the world as we know it in five years. The sun will be in the middle of the milky way galaxy and it does this every 26,000 or so years. Quite frankly i wish it would be tommorow.. well no, i got stuff i would like to get done first, but this means a sign of greater times. We have destroyed this planet enough where we need this as we need not destroy it more and right now cell phones and industry to a great job on doing that. I have always said since i've been in high school a decade and a half ago that an ice age was coming and never crossed my mind that it was going to start in 2012. My belief is we will go through another ice age and in a million or so years from now, god will transport much better and more evovled humans starting right back in the caveman days again.

I wonder what will be left of cities that will not be sunk. How much debree will not be cleaned up as we have evolved quite high, but according to conversations with god as far as evolution is conserned we are at are own 12 yard line as of a few years ago and im sure we have only moved the ball a yard since then. 13% evolved means we will probalby have 2-3 more ice ages and life getting better. That is my take on it. It's not the end of the world. That is around 4.5 billion years for now. But a change in society for the post ice age. I can't wait to see how we look and act in our next scene.

2012 is considered a rebirth because it starts a new cycle. Some people consider ever time the sun rises is a rebirth. A chance to start again. Every new year is also a rebirth, every century is a chance to start again, every millennium is also a rebirth. Non of these has resulted in the world ending so I have no doubt that most of us will still be here after 2012.

I watched Obamas speech re Rev Wright. in it's entirety and went back over some portions. I WAS LOOKING for insincerity. and backpedeling. and cliche blurbs. and hand gestures that did not match the words. I WAS LOOKING to say "the guy is full of ****" but I thought he was honest, well spoken, sincere in his emotions, rational, logical and made his point well. Older Black people WERE humiliated and treated like ****. No matter how smart and capable they were. I would be bitter too. Rev Wright has his first amendment rights too. Rev Wright has reason to be bitter. Rev Wright is Right. add: and I am an agnostic ON A GOOD DAY. Religion has nothing to do with it.

People have been spewing end of the world nonsense for decades. I remember when the year 2000 was coming up. Everyone thought the world would end in chaos. The banks...etc would all go down...people where in their basements with with food and water supplies. Nothing happened. As far as "rebirth" or a "cleansing"....it already has happened at least a few times in history. We would be naive to think it won't happen again.

First to have feelings about something that you cannot change is a little foolish, Second the End of the world for me is when I die, or the actual world does End, either event is not a lot different for me. I have seen the future before and all seeing the future can do is make you worry about something that is inevitable. Mankind's nature is to destroy himself and we are doing a very good job of it today in many ways, population, environment, godlessness, violence, diseases, and what is commonly called just plain being evil to ourselves and others. Each of us was put upon a world we never asked to join, but the winner and losers are determined by what you do with the cards you were dealt, not with who was dealt the best hand to begin with.

I don't like end of the world scenarios, since I don't believe one can reliably predict things like that, and its takes away from where our focus should be. That is on dealing with the problems in the world today, so that we all will have a better tomorrow. It is alright to warn people that our current course is heading in a dangerous direction, and needs a course correction.

End of the world? Hogwash!
A new age or rebirth, maybe. I haven't read anything about that. Might be an interesting POV.

Matthew plainly states that "No man knoweth the day nor the hour..." so all the Mayan calendar claims and etc. are UTTER NONSENSE. Granted, it COULD happen when they say it would, but it would only be a GUESS! Would you want to stake your eternal soul on a GUESS? The intent behind not dating Christ's return was in order to keep us VIGILANT and STEADFAST in our beliefs so we wouldn't waver and that IF we died before He returned, we'd still qualify to get into Heaven.

The future is not written. Only we can change the tide of time. Maybe everything that was written was more of a warning than a prediction. We just have to find a way to WAKE up the rest of society!
