Is this site serious?

"Once again, picture in your mind a round world. Now imagine that there are two people on this world, one at each pole. For the person at the top of the world, (the North Pole), gravity is pulling him down, towards the South Pole. But for the person at the South Pole, shouldn't gravity pull him down as well? What keeps our person at the South Pole from falling completely off the face of the "globe"?"

Because, John, what you are saying is just absurd. We know with absolute certainty that the Earth is NOT flat, yet you keep insisting that it is, based on the writings of bronze age shepherds. Such perversity of thought can only be found in the deluded mind of a christian. Why can't you come to a more mature understanding of your holy book, and realize that it is mostly allegory, rather than literal? I, an atheist, would never claim that the bible contains NO truth simply because I disagree with its main assertion. I am able to recognize that it contains great truth. You should be able to recognize that it does not contain ONLY truth. You will say that the bible was written by divinely inspired men, but John, they were still only men, capable of, in fact prone to, error. Most religious people have already realized this, John, yet their faith is undiminished. You have less to fear than you think you do. To deny what science can teach us is to deny truth. Would the creator of the universe endow humans with the facility of reason, and then deny us its use? If so, he would be unworthy of our worship, don't you agree?

Circle doesn't mean flat..neither did the word translated circle. Unless a pomegranate is flat.. The universe is expanding like a a curtain being stretched out.

Everyone laughs at you because your name is John. Everyone knows that if it ain't Jesus, it ain't gospel. I recommend that you change your name to Jesus, and you will get more respect.
