i am planning to buy PS3. however, im having second thoughts because i found out that original blu-ray games for this is quite expensive. I wanna know if i can download PS3 games from the net, then later on install them to the unit (PS3). Is that possible? if so, please give instructions.. if not, please help me to decide. is it better to buy PS2 since it is less complicated?

another thing i want to ask, can i play ps1 and ps2 games with ps3? how?

please help... i really need and would appreciate it. Thanks!

The games that are out in the shops arn't avaliable on the PS system to download (just yet anyway) but the games on the PS3 are just as expensive as the 360s and the PS3 doesn't keep charging you money you dont want it to.
The PS3 is automatically backward compatible with all PS1 and PS2 games although some still skip and jump but with each update this list of fully functional games improves

You just insert the ps1 or 2 game and it will load it up (unless you get the 40gb model which WONT play PS2 games.)

There are a couple of games that are downloadable from the Playstation store, such as Warhawk, Calling all Cars, and others that are PS3 games, you purchase from the Playstation store download to your hard disc and install them to your hard drive to play.

PS1 and PS2 games can be played on the PS3 if you have the 60GB or 80GB version. The 40GB version does not play PS2 games, it will however, play PS1 games.

Even a pirate PS2 games won't run. As for PS3 games - they are all genuine, no solution exists for ISO's or burned games. Sony has way too much experience with hacked PS2 and PSP systems. BTW, Blu-ray burners and their blanks a VERY expensive. And it's ILLEGAL!

1) Sorry, but that would be ILLEGAL - and you would need a Blu-ray BURNER to even attempt this...

2) It depends on which model you get - the 40GB model will NOT play any of them, while the 80GB model will play SOME of them (there's a list on the PlayStation website that says which ones ARE compatible)

It's not possible yet. You'll have to wait till its on shelves for a few more years. Your best bet would be to buy a Xbox 360 and hope Microsoft releases the same game...
