LSD isn't good for much -- it tends to simply trigger replays of your memory stores at random.

However, there are some churches that actually use dimethyltryptamine (DMT) in the practice of their religion, like the "Uniao de Vegetal" in Brazil. This seems to be a lot more promising -- something like 40% of users report having similar visions while under the influence of this drug. Terrence McKenna theorized that the "machine elves" experienced by many during such trips might be extra-dimensional entities -- perhaps even "angels".

This is something I wondered about a few years ago. I don't believe that drugs in themselves will bring a truly spiritual experience, but I do think there is evidence that is has turned certain people onto a spiritual path. Part of that could be from feelings of emptiness of 'knowing the divine' don't last forever and they want something more concrete.

No, not really. They just make you lose your mind. Without drugs is the best way to be closer to God.

No. Seek understanding through your spiritual plane, that doesn't include a pink Floyd high.

drugs numb your mind and cloud your judgement. It depends whether you believe God is beyond logic or not, because drugs help you to lose your sense of logic.

If you are manic depressive, lithium might help. I don't think anyone has an LSD deficiency.

Understanding is knowing the truth. There is no truth in taking drugs.

No, but while you are under the influence *everything* will make sense.

Nope. Intoxicants make you blind, they don't increase your sight.

Umm, wait...drugs can bring you closer to him if he exists and if you OD and die.
