No. I don't believe in Satan because I believe that everything evil is just as much a part of nature as good is and we have to embrace both because of the mere fact that they are part of life. I also believe that good and evil are subjective; what is good to some is evil to another, and vice-versa.
And fear is a part of human nature, as is hunger, sleep, and the need to be loved. Stop pretending like fear is like some sort of virus that is spread by some abstract entity that may or may not exist.
EDIT: Have you EVER once thought that something is evil only because people PRONOUNCE it as evil?

i wouldn't say it glorifys him, but you shouldn't get enjoyment out of watching these types of movies. They should be to educate like the exercist. yes very scary but it depicts the devil and how he can monipulat a holy person and what you see isn't always the truth. like it wasn't her soul doing all of these things it was a spirt that entered her body. she was a good person. An watchiong a show like this helps humans understand the power and the realism of the devil. words writen about these type of things don't do justice until you see it for yourself. Like the pasion of chirst yes hard to read about but seeing it happen i bet got most christans choked up on watching it and cried more than when they read about it. sometime we connect more when we see things

fear is not an unhealthy emotion. it is the ONLY emotional instinct we are born with. fear keeps us safe. we are always trying to improve our environment by making it safer. that is stealing away a part of our humanity. we evolved to have a fear mechanism for a reason. being scared for short bits of time is not unhealthy at all: having accelerated heart rate is not unhealthy, and "nervous system malfunction and acute or chronic high blood pressure" is never CAUSED by occasional fear. those are indications of poor health.

the other possibility is curiosity. people are curios about death since it is inevitable. they fear death - even though they understand that if we are good, we will get eternal life in heaven. the thing is that everyone wants to live a long, healthy life and they might just be curious as to how psycho killers might kill them so they can avoid them. also, some of them are based on actual events that may have happened somewhere, so they could be construed as partially educational if you look at it that way. try not to take everything as a battle between good and evil. there is really good in all things.

Actually, I watch them because they're hilarious...
I haven't been scared by a movie since I was 12. But the fake gore, the insipid actors and the bogus effects are great.
(Case in point: The Ring. I couldn't keep from cracking up every time the litle girl showed up. If that's "evil" then I think we have nothing to worry about.)

People like horror movies because the fear and excitement brings them a rush of adrenaline. (And also, apparently, because they like to see hot, sexy women get brutally mutilated for some strange reason).
As for glorifying satan and all that... It sounds like you're talking about a bunch of mystical mumbo jumbo.

horror films glorify evil acts and perpetuate myths about mental health, if you believe in the devil then horror films do this because evil is the work of the devil, so yes.

Do questions like this glorify stupidity? I think the majority of both theists and atheists would agree that this is definitely a dumb question. Except for those morons who actually think that Harry Potter is "the devil's work."
